Michele Sofisti Appointed CEO of Sowind Group
PPR announced in Paris today the appointment of Michele Sofisti as CEO of Sowind Group, effective immediately. He will be seconded by Stefano Macaluso, Managing Director for Girard-Perregaux, and Massimo Macaluso, Managing Director for JeanRichard and the Manufacture, who remain in their current positions. Sofisti will also continue to serve as Chief Executive Officer Gucci Group Watches and Jewellery, and Member of the Board of Directors of Gucci Timepieces Hong Kong, China, Taiwan and Japan. An expert of the haute horlogerie industry, Michele Sofisti joined Gucci Group Watches as Strategic Advisor in 2009. AP Royal Oak..
It's been a while since I have been fascinated by Audemars Piguet.. Especially their Royal Oak line.Don't get me wrong, they have fantastic design, but I personally think the Royal Oak (And ROO), are the most iconic AP design to date, and are the most striking to me...So yesterday I had nothing better to do, it was a lazy sunday afternoon, so I decided to take a stroll to me dealer and see what they have in store. Having doubts, because it was not very close to where I live, I gave them a call half way, and asked if there was anything interesting, especially down the Panerai Radiomirs, Rolex Day-dates, Audemars Piguet, or Patek Phillips... In-case I can't purchase them, I can always have a look and try them on my wrist to see if it looks good on me, and one day I can buy it! :)And they told me, they have 3 (THREE!) New Omega Owner
I have been gradually getting more interested in Omega over the past year, ever since Chris (aka GMT Master) raved about them. I always liked the PO but felt it was a little too big and heavy. I like the diameter of the 42 mm model (as it seems extremely close to my GMT), but even it was a little taller than I'm used to, and a bit top heavy for me. I got pretty excited when I learned that the blue titanium model was being released in 42mm because I love the blue colour, and figured the titanium would solve my concern with the weight. However I had never actually tried on the 45.5mm titanium version until today. I was pleasantly surprised with the lightness - it felt much better on my wrist than even the steel 42mm. I also slightly prefer the proportions of the 45.5mm given the thickness of the PO.This is by far the biggest watch I own, and it might take a bit of time to get used to the size, but the lightness of the titanium makes it very comfortable for me.
