A Stitch in Time: A Night with Page & Cooper at Timothy Everest
Back in the 1970s, it was possible to walk into a UK car dealership and hand over your money for a brand new car that was so badly made and designed it would already have terminal rust. ?It would have been designed by a warring committee, it wouldn't go properly, the engine would be made from bits of biscuit tin and the brakes wouldn't. ?If you wanted a car that didn't look like a skip and that actually ran without bits falling off, you had to spend eye-watering amounts of money. ?Things are rather different today.I thought of this last evening as I visited Elder Street in London's Spitalfields for Page & Cooper and Timothy Everest's "A Stitch in Time" event. ?It wasn't simply that THE most gorgeous Morgan Plus 8 I've seen in years was parked outside either. ?Along with some of the smartest tailoring in London there were watch brands represented in each of the C18 wood-panelled rooms. They ranged from a few hundred pounds to more than ten thousand. ?And every one was, in its own wa
AP Bracelets Styles
Hey all,I've been looking to get a AP Dual Time 26120ST and noticed that there are 2 different types of bracelets - One with the AP logo and the other style with the full name, reference pics attached. Both are F series and full box and papers from a reputable local dealer. There are various pictures with both types of bracelets on chrono24 too.Is there a specific year that the bracelet was updated? Since both series are the same F series, possible that the bracelet was replaced?Any difference in feel and finish? Thanks in advance!
Thoughts on Omega Caliber 3603 Movement
Hello,I'm considering an Omega Aqua Terra Chronograph GMT with the 3603 movement. I like how this movement has the 3 sub-dials as opposed to the 2 sub-dials of the new 9300/9301 movements (if and when they come to this particular watch). From what I hear, the new movements based on the caliber 8500 are a lot better then the old Omega movements, being completely in-house etc. However, I really like the look of the older version with 3 sub-dials.Any thoughts on whether the old 3603 movement is any good? Or should I wait to see how the new Aqua Terra Chronograph GMT will look, when it comes out? Thanks a lot.
PAM90 Power Reserve
I have a friend who just purchased a PAM90 Power Reserve (no box or papers). I opened the case back for him to find that it had the 7750-p3 OP III Movement. I am not familiar with Panerai, he said it was a pam90. I thought the PAM90 had the Caliber IX but this has the Panerai OPIII w. power reserve. It's a F series. Is this possible? I have attached the picture of the movement from the watch he purchased. Here is a picture of the dial.
Finally pulled the trigger!
After a fairly long search I picked up my first Panerai: a 219! I've been hoping to own a Destro for a while now so I'm pretty stoked about this one. Sorry no pics yet. I'll have the watch in exactly one week and I'll be sure to post some pics then!
