WATCH WINNER REVIEW: Minus-8 Layer
We thank Michael K. for his pictures and watch winner review after being the lucky recipient of the Minus-8 Layer watch our October 2014 watch giveaway.? Don't forget to enter this month for a chance to win a Maurice Lacroix Pontos S dive watch here. The Minus-8 Layer is not a watch I would have normally picked, so I decided to use the generous opportunity provided by Mr. Ariel Adams, watches-dealer, and Ms. Natalia Daniel (a delightful woman with PCH/MINUS-8), to take a leap. I've been intrigued by blackout dials for some time, but always wondered about reading the things, and the Minus-8 Layer seemed to have an edge. When I set it in my watch box amongst the divers, retro Russians, and MIP-PRF roughnecks, I was reminded of a line from Mel Brooks' classic Blazing Saddles: What's a sophisticated urbanite like you doing in a place like this? It's sleek and retro/future in a cool Blade Runner sort of way. An obvious eye for detail and design went into this. It's got a solid if unpretenti

Tissot T-Touch Expert Pilot Watch
In addition to the highly anticipated Tissot Sea Touch, this year will see the release of a mildly redone Tissot T-Touch Expert, called the T-Touch Expert Pilot. Revisions include a different dial and bezel, as well as hands. The new look is themed after traditional pilot watches with the T-Touch Expert's functions, and this branding makes sense.I particularly like the aviator strap version that is also available (as opposed to the rubber that we tend to see as an alternative to the titanium bracelet). It is possible that the Tissot T-Touch Expert Pilot will be available in steel, as the original T-Touch Expert was only available in titanium (in the US that is). The dial for the T-Touch Expert Pilot is available in carbon fiber or matte finished black (each with their own minor differences). I prefer the matte finish for this look, though the small weave carbon fiber isn't bad. I say this because for the most part I am totally over carbon fiber being used in/on watches trend.[ad#image-
Considering new Diver
Hey all, I tried on the new white diver last week and fell in love with it. I was saving up for another Rolex but this watch just really did it for me. I've read some things about the movement, like occasional difficulty setting the time, and I'm wondering if it's solid and a worthwhile purchase. Not sure if I should save a little longer and go for a regular ROO. Thoughts/opinions appreciated. Sent from my LG-D801 using Tapatalk
Royal Oak Chronograph query
Morning guys, I am just starting looking at the Royal Oak Chronographs and I have a question which I have been unable to find thus far.It is with regard to the dial printing specifically the 41mm models. Are the second markers round the perimeter printed directly to the dial? From close ups I have seen this seems to be the case, but does the 3D nature of the dial have an affect on the printing or have AP allowed for this. From what I have seen the earlier 39mm models have a flat ring round the edge onto which it is printed. Maybe its me being stupid, but for once I am researching them properly before buying one. Cheers for any help
