Vacheron Constantin Historiques 1921 Wins Montres Passion Watch of the Year
The Swiss watch magazine Montres Passion selected the Vacheron Constantin Historiques American 1921 as Watch of the Year for 2009. Vacheron also won the award in 2007 for its Patrimony Contemporary Retrograde Date and Day. Vacheron Constantin CEO Juan-Carlos Torres accepted the prize on October 28 at the Geneva Intercontinental Hotel before an audience of more than 500 people. The Historiques American 1921 model is inspired by an avant-garde cushion-shaped watch with the crown at 1 o’clock that was created for an American client during the 1920s. The modern version is 18k pink gold and measures 40mm in diameter. It is powered by Vacheron’s recently-developed manual-winding manufacture 4400 movement bearing the Hallmark of Geneva.
New to AP
Been a rolex guy but considering my first AP. It would be the classic 15400 as I love the simplicity and uniqueness of it compared to other watch brands. Has been quite hard to source recently and sounds like very limited discounting compared to threads from last year. AP boutique in NYC seems to have them available but at full price. Is this as good as it gets nowadays? Days of discounting behind us? Do we think this would also lead to higher value retention going forward thus ok to purchase at current market? Appreciate input.
I took the AP plunge....incoming
I took me more then 2 years to decide if I should add an AP to my collection or not. I'm an avid ALS collector, or should I call it an ALSoholic This year I added a few Patek's to the collection and now finally decided today to add an AP, and what else to buy then the 15202ST.OO.1240ST.01. I can't wait to receive it in a few days and will surely post some pictures.
Finally .....Just got the pair of Chronos I liked
The first one, classic, minimalist and elegant....The new arrival, practical, full of things to wonder about....I guess I finally got my perfect pair.....best
Painting a dial?
I saw this on Instagram, from creodesignwatchesTo me, it looks good. But, what say the others on the forum? Does this make the Rolex worth more or less?I'm thinking less, but curious about your opinions.
