Pretty special day for me. My Patek story started 30 years ago when I was 13 years old. Growing up in Houston, my father was in the Oil & Gas business and every year he would have colleagues in town from all over the world for the OTC (Offshore Technology Conference). I loved it because there was always a large formal party at our house (perfect excuse to stay up late). That particular year I remember, because I had just bought my first watch (well parents bought half, I bought other half of the $15 watch) a Texas Instruments LED push button watch--very cool to me. I remember showing my new watch to a very good friend of my fathers, and I asked him what he was wearing and he said ‘Patek Philippe’. Now at the time that meant nothing more to me than my fathers name was Phillip and he joked with me saying it was named after my dad (and I never forgot that). I was very fortunate to pick up my first Rolex this week. It is a 16700 from 1997. I have been looking for the right Pepsi GMT Master for about a year.
