Perrelet Double Rotor Turbine Watch Video
The recently announced Perrelet Turbine watch (that I discussed here) has proved extremely popular, which is a good thing because this new video sheds more light upon this impressive timepiece. You get not only a great view of the watch in action, but a good understanding of how the double rotor system is engineered. Seeing the watch in the video in operation allows me to appreciate this desirable timepiece all the more.In particular I like how the crown is not actually pulled out much, but has a fold-out flap that allows for adjustment and manual winding (if necessary). This is done to allow for the crown to be flush with the case. The look is very uniform and instead of just looking like an instrument watch, the whole design has a very technical feel. Watching the turbine in action is a high point, and I think I would sit there and shake my arm around just to see the automatic movement winding itself. Overall, this is going to be one of Perreleta?s flagship designs of 2009 and 2010,
Talking Watches: With Matt Jacobson
You don't meet people like Matt Jacobson often – but when you do, you remember them. You remember Matt not because he's a Silicon Valley celebrity like a Kevin Rose or his longtime friend and colleague Mark Zuckerberg, but because of the way he lives his life with purity and passion. Matt Jacobson was the eighth employee of Facebook, ever. He is a serial entrepreneur, with an impressive record to his name even before Zuckerberg asked him to come on and help lead Facebook as head of Market Development, a title which encompasses all forms of business development, including the role of overseeing acquisitions like Instagram. But what Matt Jacobson does so well is he figures out, over time, through hours of research and study, what it is that suits him, and his lifestyle, and he buys only those objects that he appreciates the most. Matt isn't about owning all the Paul Newmans, he wants to own the reference that Paul Newman actually wore. Matt doesn't want to own every

4 years, 1000 posts, 8 watches
It's been a lot of fun being a member of this great forum. I've certainly learned a lot. I flipped a bunch in the beginning, but have finally settled into a small collection that I really like. I've had the Explorer, Explorer 2 (black) and Milgauss (white) two times each. The Explorer 2 and the Milgauss (along with an Omega Railmaster) are now the base of my collection. I've bought from dealers on TRF as well as my local AD. I've developed great relationships with both. I definitely like watches and brands I absolutely didn't like 4 years ago. I didn't like two-tone anything, now I absolutely love them. I didn't understand the appeal of brands like Panerai and JLC, now I can't wait to try these brands. My biggest take away has been to really take my time before pulling the trigger. I am all over the map as far as what to get next. As of today I think a TT bluesy or Daytona, but that could just as easily be a classic Submariner or a Panerai. Getting a 31mm OP for my wife was
