ROC Movement Question
Wise TRFers...My F series Royal Oak Chrono has been losing time recently (15 seconds a day) so I sent a note to APSC to see what their advice is. I had it serviced last year at Clearwater so it is still under warranty and would rather get it adjusted now vs. have to pay for it later. This morning as I was setting the time to get a clear indication as to how much it is losing a day, there was something I noticed that I had never seen before. When I pull the crown out to it's time setting position and wind the hands backward, the running second hand stops and in some instances even moves backwards with the minute and hour hands. The 2385 is a non-hacking movement so I am not sure if there is something wrong or if this is normal and I never noticed it before. Anyone with a similar issue or who has a ROC and can verify if this is normal? PS...When I advance the hands forward, the seconds hand continues as normal. It is only when I am advancing the hands backward that it does this.
Present: Audemars Piguet ROO Panda (26170) or Audemars Piguet ROO Diver (15707)?
Hi, not sure why there is no Audemars Piguet topic under: Watch brandsBut I hope my post is at the right place here.My brother wants to purchase a watch for me for my 30th birthday when he's going to Switzerland. I have to be honest, I've never been a watch guy nor did I have any interest in it unlike my brother. He said I can have any watch I want with a max of $30.000. Well, I had to catch-up and read a lot on high-end watches to educate myself a bit (but it's still not enough).Anyway, I decided to go for a brand that he doesn't own one piece of, and that the AP brand ( royal oak offshore). I think this brand/series is something that fits my lifestyle the best: I am and always have been a sports fanatic: I'm generally a lot outdoors, going to the gym 5 days a week, do competitive swimming, as well as swimming in hotel pools, in lakes and oceans, do a lot of mountainbiking, motorcycle riding, travel a lot around the world: and would like to be prepared for every situation that can pos

My new 5167...
After several long months, a business deal I had been working on finally closed. It took a little convincing, but my wife let me celebrate by allowing me to get a new watch.... my first Patek... 5167. I had been a Rolex guy, but wanted something a little different and actually a little more under the radar where most folks won't really notice it. So far I LOVE this watch. I know it isn't for everyone, but it is perfect for me as a daily watch.... which I have already broken it in with some desk diving swirlies Definitely looking forward to many adventures with this watch.Anyhow, just thought I'd share my excitement....
Rolex Appraisal
Went to my local Rolex AD this weekend and brought my submariner in with box and all the papers for an appraisal so I can insure the watch. The owner of the store was there and asked if I was the original owner of the watch, to which I said no ( as there is someone else's name on the warranty card). I explained that I bought this online from a trusted preowned seller. He refused to give me an appraisal on the watch because I wasn't the original owner......Is this common? He also acted pretty snobbish when I told him where I bought the watch......funny as his his shop was completely empty of customer as per usual.....
