SIHH: Jaeger-LeCoultre Duomtre Quantime Lunaire
For 2010 Jaeger-LeCoultre expands the Duomtre family with the addition of the 42mm Duomtre Quantime Lunaire. This piece displays time with a jumping foudroyante seconds hand showing 1/6th of a second increments, along with the date and the age of the moon. The “dual-wing” movement features two independent power supplies: one regulated by the escapement and balance, and the other for the time, date and age of the moon displays. The dual-wing architecture bypasses the problem of additional complications affecting the smooth flow of power to the escapement, and so allows precise timekeeping even in a very complicated watch. Though the new caliber 381 movement is complex, the displays are clear: hour and minute on the right hand side, date and moon phase on the left hand side, central seconds, and jumping seconds in the lower middle of the dial. The movement is designed to achieve the highest possible precision for a mechanical movement. How does is GMT look to you?
Had met a gentlemen selling this yesterday and it appeared that the thing was genuine however the date refused to change so I'm thinking there was something wrong with the 1128 movement. The time was set to safe date change hours (not between 8pm and 2am) but using the hour hand jumping it simply would not change the date to the 6th. Then I tried the the long way with the 24h hand going all the way around past 12 multiple times. Afterwards I checked photos from the listing and the date was still at the 5th so it hasn't changed since he listed for sale. The serial engraving looked a little shallow but the dial and other details looked perfect. How does it look to you?
back to Omega... Ti Speedy
I had some Omegas before. Last Omega I had was PO 8500 that I traded a year ago.. Here I am.. back to Omega. I chose Ti Speedy this time because steel speedy didn't last too long for me.. a bit too heavy with metal bracelet.. I love the subtle blue dial... and balanced weight around my wrist. Leather strap feels pretty high end.. 9300 movement is spot on when I wear it. only a second off for a few days when you put it in winder. Definitely one of the most accurate movements that I've owned. I am glad I did.
Pam 590??
Am thinking about adding this model to my collection. Think its face is real cool and unique while also a very limited US collection available.Anybody have any thoughts or pics?
