Bell & Ross Unveils BR 01 Skull Bronze Tourbillon for Only Watch 2015
For its contribution to this year’s upcoming Only Watch auction of unique timepieces, Bell & Ross has created a bronze-cased version of its BR 01 Tourbillon, which also features a hand-engraved Jolly Roger image on its dial. Scroll down to read more on this one-of-a-kind watch that blends materials from the golden age of piracy with a modern, steampunk aesthetic. The Bell & Ross BR 01 Skull Bronze Tourbillon features a 46-mm square case, made of aged bronze and highlighted by a skull-and-crossbones-shaped bezel secured by four screws. Inside the borders of the bezel (itself a motif inspired by pirate flags) a hand-engraved Jolly Roger skull made of solid 18k gold rises from the relief, “wet-look” honeycombed dial, made from a copper base with black projection. Hamilton 2015 Line Preview
While most eyes are turned towards Geneva right now for SIHH, here in NYC the second year of a new tradition just occurred; the Hamilton line preview. Admittedly, the showing is smaller in stature, but it is no less exciting for yours truly to get to preview some watches that most wont see for a couple of months in Basel. As per usual, the line? consists of various updates, some new colors, textures, etc… as well as a few new designs. I wont go over everything I saw, but rather cherry picked a few that really stood out for me.First up is the Takeoff Automatic. You might remember my review from a few months ago of the crazy and cool Takeoff Chronograph, a limited edition revealed by the brand last year. In my review I commented that as much as I liked the watch, there were elements from it, namely the bezel mechanism and modern aesthetic that I would love to see trickle down into a more obtainable line. Turns out, Hamilton was ahead of me, developing this new and awesome watching
39mm - 41mm AP with rubber strap?
Did AP every make a ROC with a rubber strap? I've been searching high and low for the better part of the afternoon and the only one I could find is the City of Sails Special Edition pictured below. I really wish AP released an ROO/ROC to complete with the 40mm watches out there. Some of us want an AP that doesn't look like a boulder (and yes, I'm aware of the 15xxx). Any help would be appreciated,Thank you!
