Hands-on with the Mido Baroncelli Heritage
For years, Swatch Group focused Mido's efforts primarily on Latin America and Asia, two regions where the brand has done exceptionally well. Unfortunately, the brand doesn’t share the same awareness in the States, which I've always found strange given the size of Tissot's (also a Swatch Group brand) American presence. That’s about to change. We learned this year that Swatch Group is now making a concentrated effort to push the brand in America. For lovers of well-priced, solidly-made wristwatches, this is exciting news.Last month we introduced the Baroncelli Heritage, a vintage-inspired extension of Mido's mainstay Baroncelli range. Liked the PAM00512 alot (and still do) but just wasn't sure.At the same time, I had really liked the DSOTM, pretty much since it first came out. Huge amount of respect for the 9300 movement, loved the two sub-dial layout and of course the all ceramic set-up was intriguing. So I went to the Omega boutique to try it on and loved it. But I tried on the Ti Blue as well, and really, really loved that one. The color is a wonderful, understated blue that works perfectly with the muted look of the titanium metal. And the titanium is great because it makes what is a re
