Only Watch Auction 2013 Preview: 5 Unique Timepieces
The fifth edition of Only Watch, the charity timepiece auction held biannually in Monaco, takes place on September 28, and news and photos of several of the one-of-a-kind watches to be auctioned off have started to be released, including models from Breguet, Harry Winston, Girard-Perregaux, Laurent Ferrier, and Piaget.Held at Monaco’s Heritage Hotel under the patronage of HRH Prince Albert II, the Antiquorum-sponsored Only Watch auction raises funds for Duchenne muscular dystrophy research, using the proceeds from the sale of unique or first-in-a-series watches made by prestigious brands. This year, 33 brands have contributed watches, including the five unique pieces below, whose images and details are among the first to be provided to WatchTime. The Breguet Classique Chronograph Openworked 5284 has an 18k yellow gold case with fine fluting on the caseband that echoes the earliest timepieces made by brand namesake Abraham-Louis Breguet. Grandfather's Watch
Good evening my friends. I have just been given an old Omega that was owned by my late Grandfather. It was given to him in 1976. Any information as to the reference, year etc. would be much appreciated. Regards,DamienSent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Oh Lord, won't you buy me a patek Philippe? My friends all wear pateks, I must make amends.Worked hard all my lifetime, no help from my friends,So Lord, won't you buy me a patek Philippe....
Patek 5196 has all the DNA of the original 96
I acquired the 5196R by chance in some ways 2 weeks ago, at the same time as my 5164R.I have seen numerous posts on the 5196 vs Lange 1815, Saxonia, VC Patrimony, I do not intend to repeat those forum topics already addressed but I would just like to simply add that this piece really has a vintage aspect to it. The others have a much more modern feel to them (even the 5296 etc are very modern in their presentation). If you prefer a vintage looking piece but a current line up, you may want to consider the 5196. The curved, silver-brushed linen dial, the golden minute dot indexes, the baton hour indexes, the dauphine hands really stand out in natural daylight and is absolutely a direct descend of the 96 in its DNA. You have to see it in person to appreciate these details. And it is so comfortable to wear and surprisingly easy to match for a daily watch. I am enjoying every moment of it.Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
