Watches NEWS
It's 2013, When Will A Mainstream Smartwatch Finally Arrive?
I am writing this article in July of 2013, amidst almost daily updates from around the web of opinions, news and rumors about smartwatches. The real question everyone is trying to answer is "when will a smartwatch (i.e. wearable computing product) that I want to wear be available?" No one has an answer yet. The smartwatch is here. It has been here for decades. We are simply waiting for a modern evolution of what people have loved for 100 years - wearable gadgets.Designers from Apple have e-mailed me with questions about mechanical watches that they want to buy for themselves. None of them have said, "just you wait until we release what we've been working on." In my opinion the people at Apple who are working on the iWatch aren't part of the typical group of designers and programmers. Rather, Apple is relying on as much outside help as possible. They did this when they released the iPhone and the original iPod, and again as they embark on the design of something not yet proven, they wil
ap ceramic diver as daily wear?
Hey everybody. This is my first post and i'm sorry if this topic has been discussed before. I would like to ask for your opinion of the ceramic diver as a daily wear. Will it be to fragile to endure the task of being a daily wear? I mainly work behind a desk but plan to wear the watch for clubbing, swimming, light diving, etc. My other concern is the weight. do you think it will be too heavy for daily wear? i currently own the novelty ss for my weekend watch and i dont think i can handle that sort of weight for my daily watch.
Omega Basel Release
I'm calling the boutique today to put down a deposit. Seriously though. What is this laser stuff they have been putting on Instagram? Some kind laser engraved wave dial?
Help needed ....absolute Rolex novice
So I would appreciate some wisdom.......I found this forum as I am an avid Patek wearer/collector; I have a Calatrava, Aquanaut, Nautilus and a Grand Complication now. As much as I love these watches, I feel I have finished the Patek collection and I do not know of any other Patek I really need to add. What I have developed a yearning for is to add a Rolex as my fifth mega watch, and then I ought to be very happy. My instinct is I would like something gold, and - if I may say so - a little blingy. The Patek watches are all relatively small and low-key and I certainly have no gold at all. With that in mind, and given I really know nothing of note about the Rolex range (I did have a vintage Datejust once but that was a very simple albeit elegant watch) any recommendations? Budget I guess - in GBP - would be up to say 30,000 or so.Grateful for any ideas/pointers.
Rolex Submariner LV box and papers
My 2007 Z serial numbered Rolex Sub LV has been without a box and papers since I got divorced a while back. I'd like to re-complete the set, as I have the warranty card and other serial number specific papers. Is there a specific reference number for the particular box set I need? Thanks!
