Patek Philippe Watches Offer Great "Pick Up Line" In New Ad Campaign
Given the status that Patek Philippe holds in the watch community, I can safely hold them to a very high standard - even in their marketing. Starting in August of 2010, Patek Philippe will roll out a new advertising campaign for its womens watches. Watch advertising is crucially important because they make important value propositions to consumers, as well as communicate essential branding information that relates to how people perceive brands and luxury watches over all. Given that, I find it hilarious when I see an ad that makes me think about having a three-way.Which is exactly what Patek Philippe's new slogan (as presented here) sounds like a pick up line for. Not just any three-way, but an inter-generational one. "Hey mom, daughterdon't you agree that something truly precious holds its beauty forever? Can I interest you two in some Champagne?" Which in the ad is proceeded by the mother and daughter clutching hands while they giggle abruptly and exchange glances. Sure they'll have
2254.50 Owners Club
How many 2254.50 owners are there on TRF? Post your pics! Here's mine! The bracelet was starting to look a bit worn so I replaced it with a nato strap. I think it looks really great now.
Crown guards on 2254.50?
Would appreciate feedback from 2254.50.00 owners?Looked at face on or looking at the dial the crown guards on mine look perfectly symmetrical. However, looking at the crown side of the watch the tip of one crown guard look almost 1mm narrower.I have also noticed this on several but not all pictures of other 2254.50.00s on the Internet.Would watches have left the factory like this, as happened with some old sports rolex, or is it the result of over-polishing by a watchmaker? And however it came about, can Swatch at service repolish to perfect symmetry from all angles?Just be interested to know how many others are like this.
Thinking about a Speedmaster...
Well guys this is my first post in the Omega section. As the title says I'm thinking about purchasing a Speedmaster, due to its rich history and my desire for a chrono. This likely wouldn't be for a couple years, but I like to dream. I will be going used on this one to save $$$. I would like to grab the Professional Moonwatch version. My question is what prices should I expect to find, depending how old the watch is, assuming its in average condition? That is, the expected price for a 5, 10, 15, or 20 year old piece, or older. Thanks!
1977 references
hey guys, in a couple of short years, I'll be hitting 40, and want to get myself a Patek that is from 1977. I have tried googling this without success, and other than the nautilus, what other references might I look for that have model from 1977?
