A Cartier First: the Tortue Perpetual Calendar
At first glance, the word “legible” may not spring to mind, but take a closer look. The new Tortue Perpetual Calendar achieves a design coup: several elements, including an openwork dial, combine to create a rich, complex mechanical tapestry, yet each of the indications is easily read. As the first automatic perpetual calendar from Cartier, this watch melds the brand’s long-established design flair with its more recent strength in movement manufacturing. The 45.6 x 51 mm case is available in white or pink gold. Technical information is available below the image, which may be enlarged with a click.Calibre 9422 MC perpetual calendarMovement: Cartier Manufacture, mechanical self-winding, perpetual calendar, individually numberedCasing diameter: 11 ?''' Geo.Graham Tourbillon Watch Is Nice And Simple
For 2015, Graham watches releases a new "Geo.Graham" watch which is part of their higher-end collection of classic timepieces. We first saw Geo.Graham watches back in 2012 with the release of Geo.Graham The Moon watch. These watches are more directly inspired by the classic work of watchmaker George Graham, whom the company is based on - even though he was British and Graham today is Swiss. The simply named Geo.Graham Tourbillon is a refined dress watch with a clear luxury position, but not at all pretentious. Of course, that should be tempered with the fact that tourbillons are like the chrome-plating of the luxury watch world - they add visual excitement and technical enhancements, but don't really add to a timepiece's ability to accurately tell the time. Nevertheless, in a dress watch like this, it is hard to say no to a tourbillon when it looks this cool.Time-only tourbillon watches with the hours and minutes and a 60-second tourbillon as the seconds indicator are a sort of guilty
Any planet ocean chrono owners out there?
any owners out there that can give opinion review on this watch?
Platinum vs. White gold vs. steel
This may seem like an obvious and simple question (and maybe it is), but I wanted to know if I am missing anything. Cost differences ignored, is platinum always the preferred choice? All else being equal, I would think a platinum cased watch would be everyones first pick. I'm curious to know if anyone here would not agree with that statement.....and why. Thanks in advance for your comments.
