Pairs Well With: Max Bill by Junghans
For this edition of Pairs Well With we chose an iconic Max Bill hand-wound by Junghans. As one of, if not the, definitive Bauhaus watch, it is defined by its legibility and clean form. Thin black lines mark the perimeter of the watch and bring the eye outward to the minute markings and inward to hours. Nothing is fussy and nothing is unnecessary. Originally produced in the 1960's and later reintroduced, it is clearly a timeless design that has informed the look and feel of many generations of watches.? The goal of the pairing was to find articles of clothing that are similarly to the point, classic, purposeful and can be worn in both casual and work settings.Max Bill Watch with a 34mm polished steel case, 17-Jewel hand-wound movement with Incabloc protection and a tan calfskin strap. Rubber Bezel, scratched
My rubber bezel got a little nick/scratch in it, actually a very very slight slice on the surface. Should I just live with this?To the other Rubber Clad owners, do you have any nicks/scratches on your rubber bezel?Full bezel replacement is $700
Nice Connie
Hola Amigos!! Hello Friends!!As you may know, by reading my usual posts at the Rolex sections, Im more a Rolex fan than follower of other watch brands, but anyway, my WIS heart has a place for some other beauties as well. Omega is another favorite of mine of course.Fact is, that I have been looking after a good example of an Omega Constellation model for some time.I find its pie pan dial so charming, and the gold case and leather straps so elegant. Last Sunday, I came across this one, while browsing through the windows of my local friendly vintage watches shop.I fell in love inmediately (love at first sight REALLY happens!!) and after a little chatting and discussing, arrived to a nice deal with the seller. (He IS really friendly!).I took it home, and gave a little polish to its original plastic glass. I discovered that original plastic, has a very little Omega design in the very center of dial glass!! very difficult to see, and more to photograph, but it is there if original plastic.
Incoming 5167r
I recently purchased 5167r from an AD, after years of being a firm Rolex fan.I was in my local AD and few weeks back enjoying a coffee and looking at a few PP pieces, one of which was a 5167A on a bracelet which tbh whilst I'd have gone for the strap version in a heartbeat, the bracelet did little for me and I'd rather not spend the extra for the bracelet and then have to pay out again on the rubber strap and deployant clasp. I was considering it but... as we were discussing the store manager popped over to say hi and show me a 5167r they had taken in part exchange just that morning!I was hooked...Loved the dial colour and the chocolate brown strap of the R compared to the steel version.Over the course of the next day or so we struck the deal and after a trade and some cash I picked it up just before Christmas. The strap is taking some getting used to (mainly from the many years of wearing bracelets) Am also quite conscious of how flashy it looks being the R (but maybe thats just me)A
2017 Novelty
I was very excited to be able to try out the new model today. Although they are prototype, the weight and dimensions should be near identical to the real thing.I was most excited to try on the 6006, I feel in love with the busy and controversial dial recently. However, I am a bit disappointed, now my quest to try the old model 6000 begins. My wrist size is a bit less than 6.5 inches.Sent from my ONE E1003 using Tapatalk
