Foundation Stone Ceremony for Jaquet Droz
On September 9, 2009, Nicolas G. Hayek, Chairman of the Swatch Group, Nick Hayek, CEO of the Swatch Group, and Manuel Emch, President of Montres Jaquet Droz, laid the foundation stone of the new Jaquet Droz Manufacture located in the small, green valley of Le Crt-du-Locle in the Neuchatel Mountains. The new building will be about 27,000 square feet in size, and the first employees will begin to arrive next summer. The inauguration is scheduled for October 10, 2010. This site will allow Jaquet Droz to regroup all of its activities under one roof, and the facility offers significant growth potential. The new Manufacture will serve as a showcase for the brand, eventually accommodating almost 100 employees.
The Value Proposition: The Longines Heritage Diver Chronograph
If you're looking for a very respectable amount of bang for the buck, you could do quite a bit worse than Longines, who have in recent years developed a very large collection of timepieces that are based on watches from their very long history (which, in one form or another, goes back to the early 1830s when Auguste Agassiz set up shop in St. Imier, and founded the company that would eventually become Longines.) The entire Heritage Collection, in fact, is a pretty rich trove of timepieces that offer pretty great value in one form or another, from the great looking Conquest Heritage to this fantastically old-school monopusher chronograph with trench-watch style lugs, and many others. We're not saying every single one is a home run but there really is something here for just about everyone and in general, at very wallet-friendly prices. 1 OF 5 We just recently got to spend several days with one that we really like a lot: the Heritage Dive Chronograph. This is a heft

Waiting list myth - Sky Dweller
There is some very curious behaviour from AD's at the moment, specifically their complete fabrication of waiting lists.Summary version of events;Friend and I pop into an AD in London last Saturday. Him wearing a submariner, me in a GMT Master - hopefully gives the impression of serious buyers. He looks at a couple of bi metal options which didn't float his boat, only for the AD to say I've got something I can show you but it's for another customer, but have a look. They present the bi metal (YG and SS) Sky Dweller with black dial - absolutely beautiful. He tries it on, says he wants to buy it and they say it's a 2 year wait but I can take your number.Next day (last Sunday) I email the AD I have a relationship with (I've bought circa 5 watches from them since 2014 and am on a list for a Patek 5711, so I am not their biggest customer by any stretch but have a good relationship there). He replies saying he is on leave but will respond Weds.He emails Weds telling me he can get one, and it'll b
