Review: Uniform Wares 300 Chronograph
The Uniform Wares 300 Chronograph is where fashion meets function in watch form. The design of this watch mixes the precise eye of a trained industrial designer with contemporary fashion sensibilities. The lines of the watch are sharp and mechanical with an emphasis on geometry and proportions. The pallet of the watch is monochromatic and understated but far from dull. It is at once stylized but restrained, striking but understated and a welcome change in pace from more traditionally styled watches.Case: Matte Black PVD 316L Stainless steelMovement: ETA 251.471 23 Jewel Quartz ChronographDial: Brass – Matte Greys / Matte Grey IndexesLens: Hardened Mineral CrystalCase Back: ScrewdownStrap: Black Italian Calf LeatherWater Res.: 50 MDimensions: 42mmThickness: 10.80 mmLug Width: 18mmWarranty: 24 monthsThe aesthetic of this watch is riffing on the Bauhaus style, which can be most notably seen in the watches of Max Bill and Dieter Rams. A thread with all LIMITED EDITION ROOs?
Is there a thread with all the different limited edition ROOs? If not, perhaps we can start one! Would love to see all the different limited editions... please post a pic of yours if you happen to be a lucky owner of any of them or if you have a pic of it to share. I'm relatively new to AP so would love to learn about the limited edition versions for the ROO line. This past weekend I was fortunate enough to handle this one.
Learning to dive...
Hi guys, my first thread in the AP forum! I'm a long time AP fan who lusted after a white faced ROO chronograph back in 2005, and when I looked again they had jumped up in price too far for my taste. Given the list price is now 18k I wiped the thought of AP from my mind... until I wandered into this forum one fateful day and found the Diver Appreciation Thread! Wow! An amazing looking watch which didn't just sing to me it ORCHESTRATED!!! So I started reading and learning more about the watch and the amazing 3120 movement and suddenly I realise, I'm in love! This is bad news given that I just bought 2 watches already this year and told the wife I was now done! Needless to say the hearts and minds work has begun. In the interim I thought I better go and try it on in the metal. All I can say is wowed! My son was smitten too, and said I need the FC too! Anyway, enough words, enjoy some pics of my fact finding mission, and if I'm lucky I'll be the ecstatic author of an Incoming thread soon
How many Divers have been made?
I know this is a difficult question as it is not a Ltd. edition piece...but does anyone have any idea how many have been produced?Sorry if it is a sill question!
AD vs Grey
Branching out from another hot topic of paying over MSRP for a Daytona C.Out of town today and I stopped by an AD to check out their inventory. Same old news, not a single SS Sport model other than an Air King. A sales approached me and asked me what am I looking for. I gave him a list of models and his manager (I think) joined the conversation. AD: Well, you need to have a relationship with us in order to get on the list for these Professional models and the Daytona's waiting list is minimum 8 years. ME: Oh, so you don't have anything in stock now?AD: I don't know. Maybe. Maybe not. (Some vague Bs that I forgot what he said).... if you want to start a relationship with us now, I can get you a professional model much faster. (Pointing at the DJs & PMs)ME: how fast? Do you have something at the back?AD: I don't know. Maybe. Maybe Not. Depends how strong our relationship is. (Hinting on some PMs)ME: Where will that WG GMT BLRO take our relationship to?AD: That, my FRIEND, if you buy
