Hey everyone... the recent uptick of posts on the 5164 and 5712 (not to mention the incomings) had me zeroed in on one of the two as my next timepiece. I thought the 5164 would be a great travel companion (live in Tokyo, office in SoCal) and a good stable-mate to my 5146g. I have tried on the 5164 multiple times but never seen a 5712 in the metal. There was just something about the 5712 that I loved. Imagine my surprise when I happened on the AD in SLC last week and they had both available. My head told me that the 5164 should be the next acquisition ... Much more utilitarian with my line of work. But my heart fell for the 5712 - I was always intrigued with the design, but seeing it in the metal was even better. Couldn't afford both - dratt ! - so slept on it a night and decided ... to go ... with my ... HeartNot an ounce of regret - love, love, love the 5712!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I am sorry if this has been posted about before. Just curious on everyone's thoughts. For a young man like me who has long lusted after Submariners and Luminors, when a watch comes around like the Black Bay or this PAM, at a reasonably affordable price it is extremely attractive. I really have a great desire to own a Panerai, and this one with a retail of $4,200 USD is very exciting when many can reach $10k+ easily. Now I understand this is not the same as a super fancy 47mm 1950s PAM with an in house movement. But after all, price cuts come with costs.At what cost though? On the positive, we have the always classic Panerai Luminor design. Painted dial, patina lume (which I like), blue base logo (which I also like), traditional crown guard. Other features some view as cons and this is where I am curious on your opinion. Hi,Anyone here know when the Carbotech is going to hit the stores...I have been waiting to see one in person and would have thought it should be out by now.It is surprising to see new releases like the 577 whereas the watches launched at the beginning of the year are nowhere to be seen...Cheers,Abner
