Speedy Pro is definitely a poor man's Rolex
Me and my Speedypro visit my AD after the manager calls me in with promises of free coffee, blackjacks and a try of the fresh slate dialled 116509.I'm checking the display while the AD returns from his lunch break.The new salesperson (I'm not stating male or female) gives me the poorman's Daytona routine and I politely challenge the statement, asking for elaboration.The person falls to pieces, no explanation just silence.Boss comes in, I say nothing about the little incident, try on the Daytona (very nice but far too much coin for my liking), eat all his flapjacks and try, unsuccessfully, to catch the eye of the salesmen as I talk watches with the AD for half an hour of so. I'm thinking of giving a Daytona's a poor man's Patek jape to embarass the salesperson but I'd probably come out of it badly so it's not going to happen.I leave with my wallet intact, belly full and poorman's Daytona on my wrist.Everyone should have a Speedypro, poor or not.aug09-speedy1.jpgI've got two, double poor

Omega PO goes to Cuba
Just got back from Cuba, spent a beautiful week there with my girlfriend Corine and some buddies (Scott and Kurt), soaking up the sun, smoking lots of cigars, and drinking lots of rum. It's a very interesting country, the literacy rate there is apparently over 95% which is on par with or better than many Western countries, and they have a health care program where every citizen is able to see a doctor. Whether or not treatment is readily available is another story however, as there is a shortage of even the most basic things, like cold medicine and even toilet paper. There is 0 homelessness which I found interesting, since the government assigns every person a home of some sort.One rather strange sight was a fair bit of hate propaganda in the form of billboards etc. aimed at America. The Cuban government wants very much for the Cuban people to resent America, but I didn't find that to be the case at all. I've now had my DeepSea for 8 days��And having worn it all day, every day during that time, I thought I would pass along just a few of my own personal observations of a watch that seems to polarize people more then most��When first picked up and held in hand, the watch demonstrates a incredible heft �� One that causes even the most ardent watch enthusiast to pause and exhale deeply��But once on the wrist, I found the extra weigh to miraculously vanish entirely�� I've heard comments from people about a Top Heaviness or Floppy feel when worn��But I must say that I found, in my case anyway, for this not to be so��The watch seems to sit atop my wrist where it belongs with no more movement then either my 1665, 16660 or 16600 ever had��In fact, the watch wears and feels no different on me, then any other Sea Dweller I have ever owned��And I tend to wear all of my watches a bit loose��The biggest issue people seem to have, based on what I have read, is the thickness��Now there's no getting around i
