Watch Experts Network: ’24 Hours of Le Mans And The Winner Is: Rolex’
As afollow-up to my two posts about watches & 24 Hours of Le Mans I want to show you some pictures saying more than 1000 words Click on read more to see my report First of all congratulations to Porsche to win its 17th 24 Hours of Le Mans race. After a clear dominance of Audi during the last years Le Mans now has a new winner: Porsche Motorsport. After some years of abstinence Porsche came back to Le Mans last year but did not win the race. Audi did. Porsche came back again this year and at 15:00 CET won the 24 Hours of Le Mans.Once again: Congratulations! If you have been reading my two articles about 24 Hours of Le Mans and the active engagement of Swiss watch manufacturers with some leading teams you might have been following the race like I did the last 24 hours. Now, after the show is over, I want to show you some pictures that will impress you.I simply took some screenshots with my iPad during the last minutes of the race and then during the price giving ceremony. What one c
Introducing the Autodromo Prototipo Brian Redman LE
I've been a pretty big fan of the Autodromo Prototipo watches since they were first released in 2013. Simply put, they are one of the best releases of the last couple of years, with pitch perfect styling and razor sharp execution. Their vintage aesthetic just nails the look and feel of 60's and 70's racing chronographs, but with enough twists and turns to make them distinctly Autodromo. I recommend reading our lengthy review here, if you are unfamiliar with the watches. One such twist was that when they were initially released, there was a limited edition version dedicated to Vic Elford, a renowned driver of the Prototype-era. The watch, which featured a 3-eye chronograph, some very stylized coloration based on Mr. Elford's Porsche 907 paint job, sold out almost immediately upon release.Following the success of the Elford, Autodromo has teamed up with another iconic driver of the prototype era for a new limited edition watch. The Brian Redman Edition commemorates both the driver, Mr. R
Questions about ROC fit on small wrist
Well.. i finally got to try on a ROC today! I simply love the watch and dial and it was really tough to take it off. My questions to the experts here are..1. The bracelet does not seem to hug my small wrist as snugly as the Daytona. At the lugs, the bracelet feels very stiff and does not bend enough, leaving a gap between the bracelet and the wrist, if you know what I mean. I'm wondering if it will bother me that the fit is not just right and if there is some way to remedy this. Rubber strap option??2. Is this the newest clasp style? The blades on the clasp do seem a lot longer than Rolex blades and I'm also wondering it that will be another fitting problem.3. Through the protective plastic, I think it looks like this watch is an E serial. How old would that be? And what would be the model number of this watch? I saw some other letters like what appears to be 3135?4. How many removable links should be present on the bracelet? This is a pre-owned watch and there are 3 more removable l
What is the largest Patek on the wrist?
I'm wondering which PP has the largest wrist presence? Which is largest in height and total mm on the wrist? I know PP prides itself in a smaller conservative case however I am a very big guy and feel comfortable having a bulkier watch on the wrist. If you can please help answer this I would greatly appreciate it. I have ceramic subs, AP ROO 42mm which I love on the wrist and those are good sizes for me. In the world of Patek I'm trying to figure out which is the largest and comparable to these. Pictures would also be greatly appreciated.
Just bought a used Watch with undeclared damage
Hi,I am after some advice please.Yesterday I purchased a used daytona from a well known dealer over the internet. Before I purchased it I asked if the dial had any damage and I was told than there was no damage and the watch was perfect.I just received the watch and there is damage on the dial mist noticeably on the 6 o'clock sub dial but on other points too - near 27 minute marker, on subdial near 9 o'clock looks like a hair/lint on inside or crystal and then there is a mark between subdial. What is your view on this?
