Review: Techn Sparrowhawk II
The Techn Sparrowhawk II stands out in the inexpensive chronograph market. It is a well-executed aviator with sharp styling, great build quality and the added perk of an interesting movement at its heart. At $269 one does not usually expect something unique, but Techn manages to pull it off. The aviator market is fairly saturated, with offerings from brands across the price spectrum, from Timex to Steinhart to Bell & Ross. It's a look that does not change very much from brand to brand, but the Sparrowhawk II achieves something refined, that is clearly an aviator, yet not derivative. ?Combine this with the Meca-Quartz chronograph within and you can begin to see how the Sparrowhawk II is more that just an affordable watch, it's genuinely innovative.Case: PVD Coated 316L Surgical Stainless SteelMovement: Seiko VK63 Meca-Quartz ChronographDial: Black w/ Off-White indexesLens: Mineral w/ AR coatingCase Back: ScrewdownStrap: Khaki CanvasWater Res.: 100mDimensions: 41.5mmThickness: 11.7
Speedy Pro. Meteorite
I recently had the pleasure of handling an Omega LE Apollo/Soyuz Speedmaster Meteorite dial. From what I could see through the protective plastic on the dial, it looks AMAZING !The price was amazing too, $9350. Canadian, with no wiggle room, higher than I expected, twice as much as a basic MOTM. I did a search and found the information limited, no pun intended.I love this Speedy, my new grail perhaps, and am wondering what the thoughts are on this particular LE, my search results led me to believe that resale on the LE's left a lot to be desired. (except for the Snoopy's)Thanks in advance, Mark.
Looking for Advice: 5165 or 5167
Hello all,I've decided to go for an Aquanaut. However I'm trying to decide between the elusive 5165 & the 5167. I know a good number of folks on this forum have the 5167 and swear by them, but hoping to get some comments from folks who have owned or at least seen a 5165, as I never have. My thoughts are as follows: I have a lean 7 wrist and prefer smaller watches, so I feel the 5165 could be the perfect size for me. I've tried the 5167, however, and I can say it felt too big. From an investment standpoint, I feel that the rarity of the 5165 and the fact that it had a short production run, and the fact that it has an integrated bracelet & the same quality dial as the 5167 might make it a winner in the long term. So, can anyone comment on whether the 5165 feels too small? Are the dials as vibrant and dynamic under different lighting as the 5167? Do 5165 owners love their watch, or do they wish they had the 5167? Do any 5167 owners feel their watch could be a bit smaller? Finally,
Datejust 16013
Am I the only one that seems to think the 16013 is an under rated rolex. There seems to be lots of discussion about other models but not much about this model. I wear daily pretty much and find it absolutely the most comfortable. Any others feel this way.
