On The Media's TLDR Explains Swatch Internet Time
Back in 1998, Swatch tried no small task: to fundamentally change how we track time around the world. The idea was called ".beat time" and "internet time," and was supposed to simplify communicating across the world in the age of the internet by doing away with timezones and small units like seconds, instead dividing the day into 1000 event units. The experiment has been largely forgotten, but NPR's blog and podcast TLDR decided to take a closer look into why .beat time was born in the first place and why we're not all wearing .beat watches today. This is definitely worth a read and a listen.The basics are pretty straightforward: with internet time, the only units are "beats" and there are 1000 even beats in one day. This makes each beat a little shorter than a minute and a half (1 minute 26.4 seconds to be precise). They record time after midnight, so the @950 time shown on the watch above is equivalent to exactly 10:48pm at the Swatch headquarter

AP Band Leather Strap -Received Defective Item?
Hi Everyone,I just received an AP Band Capolavoro Black Alligator Strap for my ROO, but it seems like the leather is defective? It's my first watch and also my first time purchasing leather straps so I'm not sure if that's just the nature of real leather/crocodile leather? It also looks very dry...I was really looking forward to putting these on and finally wearing my watch since the AP leather strap is on backorder and wouldn't be available for another 4 weeks...Should I contact AP Bands about it?

20 years old - First Rolex purchase...thoughts?
Hello All! My name is Brian and i am a 22 year old college student. i started a small online business at age 18, and was lucky enough to be able to afford my own Rolex by age 20. I have a 15210 date. Bought and worn daily for 25 years. Great watch but oyster bracelet becoming worn. The watch obviously has limited value now. What options do I have to get the bracelet overhauled or replaced without buying new from Rolex?
