Would like to share my first Patek Philippe timepiece here.Patek Philippe. Manufactured in the late 1960s. In black dial, inner Arabic numerals, Arabic seconds indication to the outer raised chapter ring, in black painted cast metal case with chromium plated bezel.The original purpose of any chronometer is to be used in celestial navigation. In conjunction with a sextant and star chart a captain or sailor would measure the degrees that a known star is above the horizon (or it's Zenith) at a given time and date and get a position on the ocean. A minute error in measure of degrees or time will equate to many nautical miles of position error so accurate time is essential.

If rolex is for rich people then what do Patek owners do for a living?
I had this funny idea after I checked a Patek pricelist Patek's are sooooo DAMN expensive and servicing a Patek is even worse So any ideas ?

Removing permanent links
Hi guys, I recently acquired a 14060 and 16710. Very happy with both. I have small wrists, about 6', so the 5 digits feel more comfortable compared to the newer 6 digits pieces. However, because the number of removable links is lesser than the 6 digit bracelets, the clasp doesn't sit nicely in the middle of my wrist. My question is 1) will removing a permanent link or 2 lower the value of the watch in the future when I want to sell it off2) if I sell it later would it be an issue for the new owner to add more links to the braceletAppreciate any comments, especially from guys who have done it before.
