Hands-On: The Cartier Tourbillon Mysterieux Azure Pendant Watch (Live Pics, Full Specs, And Pricing)
"When the commissionaire had gone, Holmes took up the stone and held it against the light. It’s a bonny thing,' said he. 'Just see how it glints and sparkles. Of course it is a nucleus and focus of crime. Every good stone is. They are the devil’s pet baits. In the larger and older jewels every facet may stand for a bloody deed. This stone is not yet twenty years old. It was found in the banks of the Amoy River in southern China and is remarkable in having every characteristic of the carbuncle, save that it is blue in shade instead of ruby red. In spite of its youth, it has already a sinister history.'" – Sherlock Holmes: The Adventure Of The Blue Carbuncle 1 OF 9 This might seem a rather ominous way to start off a look at one of the most spectacular objects we saw at the Salon this year: the Cartier Tourbillon Mystrieux Azur, a gem-set pendant tourbillon watch, and a unique piece. Omega Service Center (NJ) - Horrible Service
I owned a SeaMaster for about 10 years and finally I sent it in for service. It came back with all the edges on my case rounded off. I was upset because my bracelet was fine. They also broke the extension clasp. Omega service (NY) or Swatch group, whatever, replaced the clasp but never rectified the rounding/over polishing of the edges. Their service was less than par and I have to say this but I will NEVER buy an Omega again. BTW, my watch needs service again because it now loses about 5 min/month. When I sent it in it only lost about a minute or so. I do NOT trust their service. Someone else I know had their Sea Master come back with a broken bezel. WTF?
Quick Advice :: Buy 5296G non sector or 5227G
I am getting the itch again. This time it's either the 5296 or 5227. Any pics of current owners would be great. I like the simplicity and the dial pop of the 5296 more so than the 5227 but would 39mm be more advantageous over a 38mm ? There's a large price differential but I'm not focused on that right now. I need to make a final decision this weekend for Monday purchase. Let's hear it.
