New Flavors of Citizen Campanola Eco-Drive Watches For Basel World 2008
I call any watch a "new flavor" when the look and feel change a bit, but overall the watch is the same, being part of a series. This is a watch maker's way of sprucing up a line a bit, or adding a few more color schemes. Don't let this practice fool you into thinking it is a lazy attempt at a new watch. Watch companies would be unwise not to allow a watch to fully realize its potential. A slight change of design can drastically change a watch's character, and move it into your favored versus dismissed pile. For 2008, Citizen is releasing a handful of interesting offerings at Basel World. None the least of which are two Eco-Drive based Citizen Campanola watches. The Eco-Drive based Campanola watches represent a small segment of the entire Campanola line, and of course different movements. The challenge has been in allowing for the watch dial surface to be penetrated by light, yet still maintain an attractive look, befitting the Campanola moniker. Tom Hanks wearing his Speedmaster
Hi Guys,It was nice to see Tom Hanks wearing his speedmaster on Graham Norton at the weekend. Although Simon Pegg who was also on the show, wasn't wearing his, I find it amazing the amount of celebs I see wearing speedys in films, and also in the media. And apart from Bond, never see a seamaster on screen? I thought it would be more popular.
My first Rolex dilemma (Polar or Black)
I'll try to keep this short, I'm looking to purchase my first Rolex and I've choose the Explorer II 16570 for various reasons. I like the fixed SS bezel which makes it fly under the radar more unnoticed than say a sub. It's practical functions of both date and extra time zone, dimensions of 40mm and the fact to me it's good value and affordable, albeit at the very top end of my budget 4000. I've narrowed it down to two watches I've found on chrono24. Both are 2009 models. The black faced is a V serial with 3816 movement. It was serviced by Rolex in April 2017 and had its dial and hands replaced the service receipt showing the cost of 1190 is included in the sale. It's in great condition sadly without box or papers just Rolex service receipt; travel pouch and guarantee card. The other is a Z serial 2009 with 3815 movement. It was serviced by Rolex in September 2016 costing 700. The Polar Explorer comes with boxer, papers and is also in mint condition. Both watches are for sale for 4
Rolex / Watch Storage
How do you store your watch collection at home? In the past I've seen some pretty cool watch safes but they are a bit pricey. Also looking to see how others safeguard their investments.
