Watches NEWS
This watch is for those who really get into complex mechanical complications
This watch is for those who really get into complex mechanical complications. Instead of a regular perpetual calendar, this watch is designed to follow a 1,000 year without correction cycle and takes into account the rule governing the Gregorian calendar. A Europastar article breaks down the details. The watch is available in four versions and uses a Cintrée Curvex curve automatic movement.
My First AP - Survivor
I realize this isnt for everyone but man am I loving this thing. Its incredibly comfortable and not nearly as massive as I expected it to be. The finish is simply incredible. Big thanks to Masterserg and several others on TRF for all the great advice!
Decided to pull the trigger...
As I posted a while back, had really not given a close look to AP until recently, but was hooked after a leisurely session trying on many models during a recent vacation. Landed on this one (15300ST in white). I think it's a classic -I love the workmanship, the proportions and the simplicity of the dial. Special thanks to DavidSW - he makes it way too easy!
hello from Tennessee
Hey Guys..... and GalsI just thought I would introduce myself. I have been trolling this website for several years now. I am a watch collector for over 10 years now and love both Rolex and Omega. I currently own an Omega SMP but have also owned a few Rolex watches including a 6694 and a vintage explorer. I flipped both just because the 34mm watch was just too small. I received my SMP several years ago an a gift from my wife and still love wearing it. I am really considering the purchase of a Broad Arrow Speedy. As much as I love Rolex the one thing I love about my SMP is... everyone knows a Rolex when they see one, but only real watch lovers know an SMP when they see one.
Score!
Well, the second best thing at an AD. I went into an AD in Westchester County, NY (not the big T), no SS sport models except 1 Explorer, polar dial, thats it. In regards to sports models the only PM model they had was a WG ceramic bezel Daytona with the rubber strap, thats it. No other SS models, no PM, except what I mentioned above. Their Rolex display was 50% empty, only had lots of DJ's, like other AD's. Saleswoman told me they received no shipments since mid November and don't expect any shipments until February. The wall display was empty and this AD has an entire room dedicated to Rolex, no other watches in this room. The woman told me that they have received hundreds of calls asking for any SS sport models. She told me that people preferred the SS models, but when they could not get SS, they bought TT and all PM models. They had a huge Christmas.Edit above: I am sorry, they also had a SS Sub Date, so for anyone who wants it, PM for AD name, again they are in Westcheste
