Oris Big Crown ProPilot Calibre 111 Watch With In-House Movement
The Oris Big Crown ProPilot Calibre 111 is finally the Oris sport watch I have been asking for. This is the first non-dressy or traditional watch (depending on how you look at it) to include Oris' in-house made movement. Oris currently has two in-house made movements known as the Calibre 110 and the Calibre 111. The former was released in 2014 as a limited edition (hands-on here) to celebrate the brand's 110th anniversary. One year later, in 2015, Oris released an almost identical Calibre 111 watch that was not a limited edition. The only difference between the Calibre 110 and the 111 is the addition of the date in the latter.At launch, I asked Oris, "as a brand so strong with sport watches, why are you putting the Calibre 110 into a more formal watch?" I saw immediate appeal for Oris fans who would love to see the new in-house movement inside of a sport watch. Help! Can't decide which model! First AP.
First post on here and I'd appreciate any help / advice on my first AP.So I'm looking at either a brand new RO steel 15400ST or a pre owned 1yr old the RO chrono.The predicament I'm in, is I have a Breitling which I'll trade, and also an IWC Portuguese chrono with the blue leather croc strap, white dial and blue hands.If I stretch to the chrono, I'll have to trade the IWC too, as its 2k more, on an already stretched budget.I love the open heart on the entry 15400 and seeing the internals. Also I understand this uses an in house movement as opposed to the chrono, but the chrono is next level up, but pre-owned (only 1 yr old).What do you guys think I should go with?Also I've never tried one on and a little worried about having thin wrists at 17cm or 6.75inches it may look to big? As if I proceed with the purchase the watch will be mailed so no option to try it for size. Should I be worried or no problem here?Thanks

I picked up a Jarno Trulli towards the end of last week (sorry for not having posted any wrist shots or incoming thread, thought I would keep this one low key). I wore it very sparingly on Thursday and had let it sit over the entire weekend. Just yesterday morning as I picked it up to put on my wrist, I noticed the watch wasn't moving at all no matter how much I wind it. After having it on my wrist for the entire day it still wasn't moving at all, just dead, chrono too, completely dead.....I'm not sure what the general consensus regarding the durability or QC of ROO's are but I was sure really upset about this. Very indeed. K I'm done venting now. Haha cheers Any similar experience of yours you can share is greatly appreciated.
