Patek Philippe Sky Moon Tourbillon Ref. 5002 Watch Available On James List
The Patek Philippe Sky Moon Tourbillon Watch is one of the most famous names in the modern Patek Philippe watch catalog. The over $1 million watch is rare, beautiful, and exotic even by Patek Philippe standards. One of the watches just set a record fetching $1.2 million at auction, by far the highest any watch has gone for at auction in this economy. One of the things I love is the relief engraved sides of the watch that display stylized Patek Philippe Calatrava Crosses - very nice. So why does everyone want a piece of the Sky Moon Tourbillon? Well aside from it being a very complex Patek Philippe watch, it is also very pretty, and have two faces. One of the rare doubles sided watches that can actually pull the look off. The watch came available in gold or platinum, with a bit of a premium for an already premium watch for the latter. What is amazing to me is that the watch is still relatively new having been released in the last few years that you can get watch still in the retail sense
Royal Oak Clasp Issue
Hey, first post in this section. I was listing my RO Chrono for sale a few weeks ago (I've since decided to keep it, due to selling some other stuff). And while taking photos, I noticed that the clasp was a bit looser than it should be. The same exact same thing happened to me with a Hublot Big bang a few weeks prior to that, and Hublot fixed it even though the warranty period had expired. The Hublot issue was functionally nearly identical to this issue. If I had to guess, I'd say the spring on one side came loose. So I took the ROC to the AP boutique in NYC to check it out- I was told it is safe to wear, and not to fix it until the watch needs a service. While I understand that this may be true, I do like my stuff to be perfect. Can anybody recommend something that will fix this, short of sending it back for an 18 week (what the boutique quoted me) service?Photos are below- I made it look a little worse in the photos by pushing down the clasp locking piece for illustrative purposes. Y
A fun read about the cal. 3120 movement
A bit long but an enjoyable read about the gorgeous 3120 movement. Could very well be a repost as it is from 2004.
Something Old & Something New
Just a few pics of my two Seamasters. The speedy bracelet on the newer was quickly replaced with the pictured Hirsch strap. Amazingly comfortable. The vintage is acting as my dress watch at the moment.
New watch dead on arrival
So I just took delivery of a pre owned GMT Master II from a listing on TRF and for the life of me I can not get it to run. I have wound it 40 clicks, worn it while walking for nearly an hour, nothing has gotten it started. I'm not sure how to proceed from here. I don't want to pay another few hundred for a service - the cost difference would be minimal between that and a new GMT. Is there something else that may be causing it to not run? Thanks.
