Thoughts, Info and Advise
Hello All,I have an opportunity to buy this omega. Just wondered if the omega experts could fill me in a bit. All I know is that it's a limited edition Schumacher Legend. Any other info would be greatly appreciated, in addition to personal thoughts on limited additions and there relevance to the watch world. Thanks in advance. Planet Ocean + Blacklight = Orange Lume?!
Today, I went to the Hong Kong Science Museum (great, but not quite as good as the one in Vancouver, Canada). They had a special exhibit featuring deep-sea animals, and one area with a blacklight for fishes that are bio-luminescent. When I went in, I glanced at my watch and thought I was wearing a Ball tritium watch! (Then sadly, realized that I don't own one yet.)I am well aware that UV blacklights cause lume to glow (ala cosmic bowling), but I had never worn my PO under a blacklight before, and was surprised to see that the tip of the seconds hand was glowing bright orange as well.I'm an amateur, but what causes that? A special fluorescent pigment in the paint? Perhaps it would be an easy way to easily sniff out the fake POs which admittedly are becoming scary-good nowadays.Anyway, nice lume shot...so bright without extended exposure. I love blacklights.

Now that the 175th anniversary is behind us, which best describes your opinion of the Patek 175th anniversary men's commemorative limited edition watches?Overwhelmed - I loved the 175th anniversary watches and I want one (if I can get it)Unmoved - not sure if I want one of the anniversary watches or notUnderwhelmed - I expected more and am not interested in any of the 175th anniversary commemorative watches
What gives ???
I'm fairly new here to these parts of the Interwebs, more of a long time lurker, recent posting convert and I know the SS Sport shortage situation has been beat to death here recently, but this is making my face hurt. I have convinced myself that what I really need in life right now is a Datejust 41 or two. I prefer to at least start with the ADs and see what they have and what they can are willing to do. I have 3 that I have dealt with for a few years. I buy a watch or two every now and then and stay in reasonable contact with each. For that matter I have a HUGE deposit with one of them for a paid in full white Daytona C and a partial on a watch to be named later (think, no dream, Coke C GMT). All three ADs quoted me full price on a DJ41. Today one of them sited the current sport model shortage as justification. Generally, I consider myself an easy to get along with sort, fairly amusing from time to time, I'm pretty serious about my watch collection (all three ADs know this), a
Help me understand the random serial number
Can random Rolex serial numbers start with a letter and then a series of numbers or must they always start with a number and then a combination of letters and numbers to follow?
