First foray into Omega!
Been eyeing omega for sometime now and when the 60th anniversary speedmaster was announced I knew it was the one to have. However, because of the delay I actually cancelled the order. Fast forward a couple of weeks ago and the bug hit again. But apparently they were sold out internationally. Luckily a forum member notified me of one available at an AD and I had to pull the trigger. Ladies and gentleman, this is seriously amazing! No wonder collectors of all shapes and sizes love the speedy so much. Now can't wait for 2019 and see what they release for the 50th anniversary of the Apollo missions. Definitely a new omega fan! Newbie Speedy question
I have a newbie question about my new-to-me Speedy Snoopy (1861 movement). Is there any danger to the movement if I move the minute hand backward to correct the time since it runs a few seconds fast each day?I don't expect to have to do this often (I'm not fanatical about to-the-second time), but I would just as soon not move forward, say, 11 hrs and 58 minutes if it's eventually running two minutes fast if I don't have to. Thanks in advance.

My 5711 was the star
Hello all! I wanted to share a friend of mine's blog. He featured my 5711. I really enjoy the pics he took. Please take a peak and let me know what you all think. His blog is fairly new and he updates frequently. Thanks for looking watchpatina/2015/02/19/in...lexs-nautilus/
If only Rolex could make a watch to wear everyday.....
Just read this in a Time and Tide article - EVENT: 7 watches spotted at the launch of the Ferrari Portofino in Byron Bay, inc. IWC, Creux Automatiq and Rolex You could get a Rolex or an IWC and spend a lot of money, but I just wanted a watch I could wear every day. - Glenn Butler (big wig entrepreneur in Australia) on why he chose a Shinola. Note: this is not to demean Shinola. They have there place in the watch world. Actually, I like many of the face designs, just too big of a watch for my liking. Opinions are like wrist watches...everyone's watch shows a different time from others, but everyone believes that their time is correct.
