James Bond’s New Watch: The Omega Seamaster 300 “SPECTRE” Limited Edition
“Does it do anything?” “It tells the time. We know you have trouble with punctuality.” So goes the exchange between James Bond (Daniel Craig) and Q (Ben Whishaw) as Agent 007 is handed his newest Omega watch in the 24th Bond film, SPECTRE, which opens this week.Omega has been the watch of choice for James Bond since 1995, when Pierce Brosnan strapped on a Seamaster for Goldeneye. The Swiss brand has released a commemorative 007 timepiece to coincide with each subsequent film, but this year will mark a first in Omega’s partnership with the Bond franchise: Omega will release a limited-edition version of Bond’s movie-worn watch (which does, in fact, do something other than tell the time, and actually plays a key role in a pivotal scene) an Omega Seamaster 300 on a black-and-gray NATO strap. The Omega Seamaster 300 “SPECTRE” Limited Edition has a 41-mm-diameter stainless-steel case with brushed and polished finishing, and a bidirectional rot
The Vacheron Constantin Harmony Tourbillon Chronograph, With "Dragging" 45-Minute Chronogr
Vacheron Constantin's Harmony line drew praise after revealing the thinnest self-winding split-seconds mono-pusher chronograph a month ago. Then it drew more praise with its mono-pusher doctor's chronograph, which employed similar technical innovation on a more reserved scale. All together, this collection of new calibers took seven years of research and development, and you can bet that a decent chunk of that went to coupling the improved chronograph with an improved tourbillon.Vacheron's new Tourbillon Chronograph utilizes the same 42 mm cushion-shaped case as the other pieces of the Harmony collection. From a design perspective, it is difficult to successfully evoke a 1920's motif in a 21st-century watch, but the manufacture has done a good job in this respect. 1 OF 3 On the dial, Vacheron has captured a particular old-school legibility in a contemporary way. The silvered-opaline dial with thickly-painted blue Arabic numerals and a red minute-track prod
PP Rose Gold and wearability?
Hello everyone. I'm searching for my next watch and have never owned a PP RG watch and have only owned one PM watch in general that I only wore a hand full of times because it didn't fit well on my wrist. So the question is how much do you all concentrate on wrist presence and try to always avoid rubbing/scratching the watch/clasp when wearing the rose gold models?I currently wear my 5167 99% of the time including sleeping, showering, swimming, working for the most part(not behind a desk), and cooking so I have worn it like a Rolex Sub pretty much. It has served me very well and I have tried to be conscience of its presence when could otherwise rub my wrist up against something. I'd say it's held up rather well considering how delicate the finish is on the case and clasp. There are only very small hairline scratches on the top brushed bezel and the same for the clasp but just more of them. The watches that are currently on my radar are the 5711r with bracelet, 5164r, and the 5712r. The
Daytona Subdial Question
This may be a very dumb question but ill ask it anyways. On the 30 minutes subdial to the chrono, how come there aren't 30 hash marks? How is one supposed to read the number of minutes elapsed it it doesn't directly correspond to the number of submarks? For example, between the 30 mark and the 10 mark, there are not 10 marks and after the first minute elapses it doesn't jump all the way to the first hash marker.I have had several Daytona's over the years but never really paid attention and was now curious. How is one supposed to read the minute counter subdial? Thanks for any responses.
