Introducing: The Villeret Tourbillon Bi-Cylindrique 110 Years Anniversary Limited Edition, A Surprisingly Ornate Watch From Montblanc
Montblanc has just decided to surprise us with an anniversary piece that is, much, much more baroque than what we’re accustomed to seeing lately from the Villeret-based manufacture. This year’s collection, presented during SIHH, reaffirmed Montblanc’s commitment to high-end watches with classic features such as the Heritage Chronométrie Annual Calendar Chronograph and the 4810 Day-Date. That is, until its latest addition to the 2016 lineup. The Villeret Tourbillon Bi-Cylindrique 110 Years Anniversary is a watch you’d expect from the likes of Richard Mille, and other independent names that are not bound by traditionalism or corporate behavior. But the slithering serpent sneaking inside its dial is not just there to provide a visual thrill or to provoke. 1 OF 2 Circa 1920, a "Rouge et Noir" fountain pen. Hands-On: With The New Nomos Minimatic, With Ultra-Thin Self-Winding Caliber
NOMOS is making 36 mm watches in 2015. That's the blunt statement that this hands-on needs to start with. NOMOS is also fitting these watches with new calibers. So this is a two-for-one review of both the new NOMOS Minimatic and the new DUW 3001 within. Suffice it to say, this cool little German manufacture isn't done making waves. In fact, if anything, it's just getting started. We'll revisit aesthetics in a moment, but before we do, let's cover something important: the DUW 3001. In case you've missed it, NOMOS' new official name is NOMOS Glashütte Deutsche Uhrenwerke, hence the DUW. Proudly made in-house in Germany. It was just last year that NOMOS announced its in-house escapement, and rather than ride that achievement for a while, they decided to incorporate that system into an automatic movement for the first time (kind of) in a brand new caliber. They have actually decided to start this movement from scratch rather than use one of their older ones.
scuffs on my 44mm ROO
I have a majorly scuffed up 44mm. Thinking of getting it refinished by AP when I send get my service while still under the original warranty. There are no gashes in it, thinking of a light refinish. You cant see it while its on my wrist at all really (see photo) but when you look closely, at the right angle you can see it. I see it, I know it's there, and it drives me CRAZY..what would you do? thoughts are appreciated!
