Ulysse Nardin Perpetual Calendar Manufacture Watch
For 2014, Ulysse Nardin continues to move "in-house" by replacing many of its existing watch collections with new ones that include in-house made movements. With the "Perpetual Manufacture" the brand's perpetual calendar movement gets a full in-house treatment. Previously it was a sort of half and half movement combining an in-house module with something like a base Swiss ETA automatic. To debut the fully in-house made perpetual calendar movement Ulysse Nardin will release the first models as a limited edition set.Ulysse Nardin has been making in-house movements for quite a while, but most of them have been in their most high-end watches. This includes their various minute repeaters, tourbillons, and range of exotic high-complication timepieces. Only with the caliber UN-118 (hands-on here) finally released in 2012 did Ulysse Nardin begin to produce in-house made movements for their larger collection of watches. The UN-118 has been complimented but a range of other calibers and for 2014
Hornback Question
Anyone have the measurements of standard Hornback as well as the XL for the now discontinued 42 ROO's?
Getting my first Patek philippe
I am probably going to pick up my first Patek in September when I am back in the UK. An AD has set aside a 5296G 010. He's quoted 17,750. Do you think I should be able to get a discount on this ? I have no previous relationship with this AD.Image from internet
Why does Rolex not put the new GMT movement in all the new GMT models?
What on earth are they thinking? Both the new blue dial WG model and green dial YG model are listed as having the older 3186 movement.
In praise of the Rolex Half Link
I bought my 116000 OP around 18-months ago on the strength of the clean blue dial, simple 3-6-9 markers and brushed case/ bracelet. However, out of the box it was always just that bit too tight. An extra link was too much so it didn't get too much wrist time - even though when it did I was getting almost +/-0 spd on accuracy. The other week I saw Watchfinder advertising the Rolex Half Link on eBay as also fitting the OP 116000 so took the plunge for 25.00.What a difference it makes to the comfort of the watch on the wrist. What puzzles me is quite why Rolex won't make it available via AD's to their customers or include it as standard on the OP without the EasyLink?10/10 to the Watchfinder team for their help in getting me sorted out!Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
