Clock-Building Kid Falsely Arrested Then Invited To MIT And The White House
Ahmed Mohamed, the 14-year-old clock maker from Irving, Texas. Image source: DailyMailwatches-dealer"Cool clock, Ahmed, want to bring it to the White House? We should inspire more kids like you to like science. It's what makes America great." That?tweet from US President Barack Obama is?how?the story of an American Muslim kid making a digital clock for a school project ended C but what led to?Ahmed Mohamed's exposure to the President and indeed the world is, unfortunately, not as cheerful - but in its way a very positive lesson. In recent days,?the story of a 14-year-old kid named Ahmed Mohamed (whose parents are originally from Sudan), from Irving, Texas, has been spread?around the world: Ahmed - a science lover and all around "fixer of stuff" - was?hoping to impress his teacher at MacArthur High School with a clock that he made at homeactually?ended up in handcuffs?later that day when?he brought his creation into his school to show it to a science teacher and fellow schoolmates. As CNN
No Desk Diver Update
Purchased my SMP300 Diver back in April. Finally got it wet last week in Boracay, Philippines!
Sending this one off to service today :(
Well this smp is keeping pretty bad time and the power reserve is only about 30 hours right now so it is off for service..
Do people really feel this way about the 5167? When will you ever be "good enough?"
I was enjoying my morning coffee and came across this listing that rubbed me the wrong way: (I think the image should load.)This type of attitude is toxic, is it not? With this mentality, when will your watch be good enough? I remember trying on my first Aquanaut and looking at the beautiful gold rotor and dial. Owning an aquanaut is something that is truly exclusive, rare and in my opinion certainly not to be scoffed at. In what real-life circle will someone feel this way? According to this gentleman, I should be ashamed of aquanaut ownership? Is there an 'aquanaut' stigma that I was unaware of? Apply this principal to any material goods, is it even possible to be happy with what you have? There is always something more expensive and 'better.' Personally, I'm going to just be happy to have the fine timepieces I have and maybe, just maybe, one day I can own a Patek that isn't looked down upon.
Black Pelagos or LHD
Hi. I love my Black Bays. I have the black on bracelet, the red on leather and the Bronze. I'd like a Pelagos. I can get a really good discount on the black Pelagos.....or pay full price for the more subdued LHD (which in colour is similar to the Black Bay face) ....what would you do?!Thanks!Glenn
