WATCH GIVEAWAY: Minus-8 Layer Automatic
This month on watches-dealer, you can enter for a chance to win a timepiece by the new San Francisco, California-based watch company Minus-8 (referring, of course, to GMT-8 as the time zone of San Francisco). The watch is called the Layer, and it combines a hip modern design with a Japanese automatic mechanical movement. Further, the Minus-8 Layer watch has an NFC-enabled silicon strap which includes a "near field communication" chip that allows the watch to interact with smartphones and other devices. There are a range of things that NFC in a watch can be used for. One good example, is allowing the watch to "unlock" a phone when it is in near proximity to it. There are currently four available versions of the Minus-8 Layer watch. Each comes in a steel case colored different with PVD coating applications. The case is 45mm wide, with a sapphire crystal, and 100 meters of water resistance.Inside the Layer watch is a Japanese automatic mechanical movement which is visible through a transpa
help me decide next purchase :) 15202R vs 5164R or 5167R
I have several APs (T3 grey dial, FC ROO 44 Novelty, RB2 RG) and I was thinking of adding something dressier.. My initial choice was Jumbo 15202 in RG, then yesterday on the plane back from Mexico saw a gentleman sporting a Patek Aquanaut 5167R.. I like the Aquanaut but I prefer the Dual time version and then by accident yesterday I saw they announced a 5164R.What do you guys think? The only thing I'm wary is the chocolate dial and brown strap, I'm more of a black color guy.. So to cut it short:15202 RG vs 5167R? Thank you
Picture request:39mm and 37mm RO on a 15,5cm/6,2" wrist
Hello Guys I am considering getting my wife a RO too. She loves wearing my 15400, but it's a bit on the large size for her (not that it prevents her from using it). Since there are no ADs anywhere close to where we live and I would rather make a surprise, I was wondering if anyone could share pictures of the 39mm 15300 of the 37mm 15450 in a 15,5cm / 6,2 inch wrist. Thank you Andr
The name...
>continued from Part 1<-------------------------4) Alaska on my wrist!Doesn't it sound nice? I carry Alaska on my wrist!!! This is just one thought that runs through my mind each time I put on this marvelous and historic watch! My lucky day was August 27th 2008, when I received the call from the Boutique that (my) Alaska was in!I have a hard time describing all the thoughts that went through my mind when I first saw it in person... So I'll just dig into the details straight away.I'm still stunned by the lavish presentation and packaging of the watch and its assorted accessories! The outer box looks huge and very promising:5) What is in the box?Well, first of all we have the watch... the wonderful white-dialed Speedmaster with the special hands and the original hesalite crystal signed with the Omega logo. Then there is the red anodized outer protective case that comes in two parts as with the original.Omega has supplied a set of tools (with spares) as well a set of extra spring-bars
Some facelift on 5131r ?
HiWhen I have checked patek today I have realised that there is some facelift on 5131r. Seems like some cities have been changed but the watch is same in general. It looks good but I am dubious when a brand like Patek plays on watches. What do you think ?
