SIHH Preview: Vacheron Constantin Quai de lIle Retrograde Annual Calendar
Vacheron Constantin’s Quai de l'Ile collection offers contemporary design and a unique opportunity for owners to create their own distinctive example via a series of personalization options. For 2011, a new Retrograde Annual Calendar joins the collection, powered by the new Vacheron Constantin Calibre 2460 QRA automatic movement. Available in pink or white gold, or both if the customer desires, the 43mm case houses a new movement designed, developed and crafted by Vacheron Constantin, and bearing the Hallmark of Geneva. The 326-part Calibre 2460 QRA drives the hours, minutes and small seconds at 9 o'clock, as well as the annual calendar with retrograde date display, months and a high-precision moon-phase indication requiring correction once every 122 years. Equipped with a stop-seconds device (“hacking seconds”) to ensure precise time-setting, the movement runs at 4 Hz (28,800 vph) with a 40-hour power reserve. The ruthenium-plated 22K gold rotor is mounted on ceramic

Today after his round he had the ROO Chrono in RG on. It was on the rubber strap. Beautiful watch. I wish I had a $50-60k watch when I was 22. Guess when you are playing golf better than anyone in the wold you get those for free. I've seen him in 3 different APs this week. All RO or ROO Chronos.
Help with first Patek
I'm in the process of deciding which model I should purchase as my first PP so thought I'd ask you all some questions. My current collection is very small as I didn't buy my second nice watch (Omega GSOTM) and get hooked until last year. I have a Rolex 16610 Sub, Omega GSOTM, and a Rolex 5330 (which was a mistake. It's too small but pretty). My wrist is 7-1/3 to just shy of 7.5 when fully swollen. I like all precious metals and even SS so that isn't really an issue. I don't travel often enough to justify having a GMT function this early in my collection either unless a heck of a deal pops up. So, it basically boils down to either a Calatrava or a 5167/1a and I'm really leaning towards the latter. I rarely wear a suit but do dress more towards business casual most of the time. Nice slacks, handmade shoes, and a button down shirt is pretty normal just rarely wear a jacket. So, even a Calatrava would need to be more of a daily wearer type watch which I think most can certainly be!With my
Dad and my 5119
My dad passed on last month at 78 due to a very brief fight with cancer.Throughout his hospitalization and even after his death, there seemed to be a particular number at play here.44.His hospital ward was 44. I am 44 this year. Im 44 and my child is 10. He was 44 when i was 10. Im his 4th child. He died on 14/3. ..1+3=4...and 4.Time of death 6.34....6+3+4=13...1+3=4.2015=2+1+5=8=4+4For the past month or so..i have been coming across this number on countless occasions..more than the usual for any number in fact....carplate numbers...times on handphone...grocery amounts...handphone battery life percentage etc etc.My dad owned a half gold rolex 1601(1+6+1=8=4+4)...now under my brother's care. I wanted to finally own a first hand gold watch to commenmorate my dad...so i decided on a patek 5119j.Thats right..5+1+1+9=16=44.Dad must be smiling. which rolex for my first and probably only
I have been looking at a few watches from a couple of different stores one of which only had used and the other had new. the first one i tried on was a DJ 41 model 126334 with the white gold fluted bezel and diamond hour marks with the rhodium dial and jubilee bracelet. the one store gave me a book for the 2017 - 2018 season and looking through the entire book these are the ones i also liked and of course different price ranges. I am not wanting to pay more than 11K for a NIB. I will have to save my money since i don't have these kinds of funds currently. I will wear what ever watch i get for special occasions and everyday wear. Here are the ones i also like #1 Mentioned above#2 DJ 41 same as above but w/o diamonds#3 DJ 41 model 126300 #4 Sub Mariner 40MM model 116610LN #5 GMT Master 11 40MM model# 116710 BLNR like the looks of the black / blue bezel but really love the black / red bezel just not sure if i can get that bezel without going with the 116719 BLRO model and since that wat
