Russian President Medvedev Wearing HD3 Slyde Watch
When celebrities like actors and athletes are seen wearing watches I don't care too much. Mostly because I know what is involved in getting those watches on said actors and athletes. When important politicians wear watches I find it a bit more interesting, usually because they don't engage in things like endorsement deals or have stylists. Here, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev is wearing an HD3 Slyde (previewed here) high-end digital touch-screen watch. He is wearing it while being interviewed on a show (you can see the full video here). Very interesting choice for him. Lovin' my new AT Master Co-Axial 8500. The black dial and polished center links DEFINITELY give it more Pop than my previous teak grey brushed bracelet AT. I can't remember the old bracelet exactly, but has Omega beefed up this bracelet a little? It feels a little thicker and more substantial.
GMT Bezel on an old Explorer II
I have an older model Rolex Explorer II that I want to put a black GMT bezel on. I've seen/heard it can be done from different sources on the net. But when I took my Explorer to a local watch shop, they told me my model explorer is one of only two years that this will not work on. I have the 16570. Anyone know if this is true or if the guy didn't know what he was doing? Or am I just wishful thinking? I'm kindof set on doing it if possible and disappointed if it can not be done with this model.
