SWATCH Lookseasy
Whether it's in or on a watch, art isn't just for the watchmaking elite as proven by Swatch with this model designed by Portuguese artist Joana Vasconcelos for the Biennale di Venezia (56th international art exhibition). The dial on the numbered limited edition Lookseasy (999 available) is adorned by gilded arabesques. Joana Vasconcelos used filigree, an age-old goldsmithery technique, to create an Oriental floral design on the original model which was then used by artisans to make the rest of the pieces. Three gold baton-shape hands lie discreetly on the metal lace whose PVD-coated gold wires are delicately welded together. The hands track the hours, minutes and seconds brought to life by a quartz movement inside the glossy black plastic 41mm case. Each piece is assembled by hand by the Swatch watchmakers and comes in a black velvet case lined with gold fabric.?Price: 300 CHF.?Sharmila Bertin
First AP RO Jumbo or ROO Diver?
So I'm considering buying my first Royal Oak, not interested in any of the chronos, I prefer 2-3 hand watches. I've been eyeing the Jumbo for a few months now and I'm pretty sure that's the one I'll end up with but I just saw the diver and it's pretty fantastic too. It's also $5K cheaper on the used market which is certainly a factor. I know they are vastly different thicknesses but both look incredible.Honestly if there was a blue dial Diver that would probably sway me. Also for those owners out there what can I expect as far as service and robustness? I've read some people have had issues so I want to go in with realistic expectations. Is the JLC movement more or less reliable than the AP?Here are some pics lifted form around here and the internet to add fire...(If they're yours feel free to tell me to take them down)ImageUploadedByTapatalk1443138703.558971.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1443138717.382894.jpg
Tried on the new speedmaster.
The anniversary watch is super light weight and feels great on NATO. I just don't know about the color.
would you say luxury?
are Omega watches luxury watches? are they in the same category as Rolex?
Hard decision: Explorer (36 mm) or dark rhodium Yacht Master (37 mm)?
Hello, for a male I have a rather small wrist (only 17 mm) and my every day watch is an OP Date (34 mm).Next, I plan to buy a sports watch, but almost all of the Rolex watches I have tried on are way too big or just feel awkward on me. As for now, it only comes down to a 36 mm Explorer (114270), which would have to be pre-owned. (Again, the new 39 mm feels too big.)On the other hand, I could just wait (and save) for the new 37 mm dark rhodium Yacht Master (268622). I have tried on a 35 mm YM (168622) and with 2 extra mm it could just fit right. So what do you guys say: go for a decent used Explorer or wait for the new YM?Thanks for your opinions!
