Perrelet Maestro Edition Musical Watches With The Tower Watch Winder + iPod Speaker System
This is a pretty cool idea from watchmaker Perrelet. I will lay it out for you talking about the key elements that make it so appealing. Deciphering the press release on this nice set up that Perrelet sent me was like deciphering translated ancient Sanskrit. Perrelet needs to spend a bit more time on the communication side of things, but that doesn't detract from how cool this setup is.Let's start with The Tower, a system that incorporates two Swisskubik watch winders, and an iPod Nano (8GB) dock with integrated remote plus speakers. The speakers, which are part of the iPod dock is actually a Logitech Pure-Fi Anywhere system (with two internal speakers). The Tower is constructed from lacquered dark wood and brushed aluminum, and looks great with its mix of luxury, style, and tech, along with the speakers under the aluminum grill. This is the first convergence product between a digital audio player and a watch winder that I know of, and I am pretty keen on the concept. The system comes w
New Nomos Alert: Introducing The Metro 38 Datum, With An Updated Dial And Larger Case Size
Today, Nomos announces an addition to their line of crisp, contemporary Bauhaus-inspired watches: the Metro 38 Datum. The changes are subtle, but they make for a clear delineation between the original Metro and this new version. There's no longer a power reserve indicator on the dial, facilitating the shift of the Nomos insignia from 9 o'clock to 12. Additionally, the case diameter has increased just a bit, from 37 mm to 38.5 mm with a thickness of just 7.75 mm. A Cleaner Update To The Original Model 2 OF 3 The Nomos Metro with in-house Swing System escapement was first?introduced at Baselworld 2014. The removal of a slightly off-center power reserve indicator results in a dial that is cleaner than the original Nomos Metro (above) introduced last year. From an aesthetic perspective, the design is more harmonious with Nomos' time-only models, like the Tangente.Painted dots at 3, 9, and 12, which were once sea-foam green in color, are now rendered in
Need your advice on paring down my ROO collection
I just left Fedex with a mint pre-owned ROO Panda, and with a lnib CE Diver (the black with orange accented dial) coming in this Wednesday/Thursday, I will have 5 ROOs in my collection. I would like to narrow it down to just 3 eventually. Taking into account the list below, which 3 would you recommend keeping?* FC Jarno Trulli* SS Rubberclad with the light green lumed Arabic dial (currently at APSC receiving a service overhaul, back by end of week)* SS Blue dial (attached photo is a web pic): the black dial in my SS Black Themes on bracelet is getting swapped out this week for a blue roo dial that just arrived at APSC, direct from AP Switzerland. * SS Panda * CE DiverYour input/suggestions would be much appreciated.
The unthinkable is happening
For those who know me and follow my posts you know that I incredibly love my Patek 5712, well I still love it a lot, but I can honestly say that I love as much or even a little bit more my ceramic diver, I have been in Ukraine for 1 month, in Odessa, not where the civil war is raging, and took both of them, and clearly I wear much more my diver, maybe 70/30, never imagined that I would love this watch so much, but it's a truly awesome piece, and I've always wanted a ceramic watch, almost bought a Pam 335 a few years ago but went with a 233 dot dial instead, as much as I liked the Pam before it is in no way in the same league as the AP IMO.So thanks to all the enablers, Benlee in particular who posted many pics of his ceramic diver, and all the others who posted as well pics of this model, as much as I prefer the Nautilus models to the RO models, well except for the RG pieces, love the RG Jumbo and RG skeleton, but clearly prefer the PP SS models to the AP RO SS models, I incredibly lov
