Vacheron Constantin Launches New Watches in Hong Kong
Vacheron Constantin launched several new watches, including an ultra-complicated piece with astronomical displays, at the recent Hong Kong Watches and Wonders fair. Three new Patrimony models also debuted. Here are six new Vacheron Constantin watches that caught our eye.Ma?tre Cabinotier AstronomicaThe Ma?tre Cabinotier Astronomica is the star among the new Vacheron models launched at the Hong Kong Watches & Wonders show. This unique piece brings together 15 haute horlogerie complications, including several of the astronomical variety, that are displayed on the back of this two-sided timepiece.The Astronomica's caliber 2755-B1 movement is one of the most complex ever created by Vacheron Constantin. The manual-wind movement consists of 839 parts, all contained in a space measuring only 33.9 mm in diameter and 12.15 mm thick. Breitling 815 sub dial hand?
Hello gentleman, I recently picked up this Breitling 815 and just noticed a slight variance in the size of the hand in the sub dial at the 6 o'clock. It appears to be somewhat thinner in width than the hands on the other two sub dials. The dials at the 3 and 9 positions have a gradual flare at the top while the hand in question has very little flare. I'm trying to determine if this is correct or if possibly the hands are replacements. If there are any vintage Breitling buffs on here I would greatly appreciate any feedback. Cheers! 👍

The New Rolex Way.....Minimalism
In thinking about some of Rolex's releases over the last several years - and discontinued models - I'm seeing a pattern of less dial & bracelet choices. Examples include the DD 40 vs DD 36. DD 40 is only president bracelet, only fluted bezel (except platinum) and less dial options. Milguass dial is down to one design, two colors. New Air King has one dial, last one had several. Daytona now only has stick dials or diamonds - the romans and numerals are gone...It almost seems that as they go along updating each model they simplify it. We can of course only speculate as to the why is it reduced manufacturing or engineering cost? Is it marketing saying the purchase decision needs to be easier on the consumer?Of course this isn't necessarily a bad thing - I love the new DD40 for example, and always thought the stick dialed Daytona's looked best.Just wondered if others noticed this and what your thoughts were?Paul
