New from Parmigiani: Two Wristwatches Inspired by the Past
Parmigiani Fleurier has unveiled two new limited-edition wristwatches inspired by antique pocketwatches from a collection owned by Parmigiani Fleurier's parent, the Sandoz Foundation. Both wristwatches are part of Parmigiani's Toric collection. Find images, prices and wallpaper inside. The pocketwatches that inspired the new wristwatches are on view in New York at the well-known vintage-jewelry and Russian-art gallery �� La Vielle Russie. They are part of an exhibit called Mechanical Wonders, featuring 50 pieces from the Sandoz Collection, and running through Nov. 26. Watch lovers will be familiar with many of the items because they are normally on view at the famous Mus��e d'Horlogerie in Le Locle, Switzerland. The first new wristwatch has unusual telescopic hands that get longer or shorter as they rotate around the oval dial. First AP arrived today
Finally made it into the AP club today, love the watch, the finish and use of ceramic is sublime!

Tried on some Royal Oaks
So I visited the AD and got to try on some ROs. First up was the 15450- the salesman thought I was crazy trying it on but when I put it on, he was surprised it fit. And it didn't need half of the links removed to make it fit. To me it's on the small side compared to my 39mm Explorer but I think it might work out. I think the combo of the sharp edges of the watch plus a bigger diameter makes it too in your face and chunky. Everything about it is gorgeous. I actually started thinking about how I was going to buy it. Second was the 15450 in rose gold with the black face and crocodile strap. OMFG. This watch is a stunner. It's amazing how the change in the bracelet and case material transforms the feel of the watch. The steel model looks modern and very sleek. This version is pure class. It has a totally different feel. The rose gold gives a warmth to the design that the steel version lacks. I wouldn't say better, but different. Finally I tried in the 41mm 15400 with a black dial. Back again?????
An owner of a 41mm ROC i bought my wife a Lady oak at Christmas. We had some challenges with the Boutique and it put me off AP for a little while. My last purchase took me back to the everyone must have staple of DD2. After her initial reservations my wife is now loving her RO and in favour of the larger size has sold her daily beater 26mm DJ. She is now in the market for a new watch. I have been trying to push her towards PP but most of not all in my price range are Quartz. My preference for her remains ever reliable tand tough Rolex in 31 or 36 but she loves the Millenary lady in Pink gold 77301OR.ZZ.D015CR.01 My questions are:Has anyone had any exposure to this watch, unlike most other APs they appear to be thin on the ground in the preowned marketplace and I wonder as to whether that may be a testament. Is her SS RO really a daily beater ( the lack of screw in crown worries me) Should I get back into the world of AP or should I gently push her in another direction
