A. Lange & Sohne 1815 Rattrapante Perpetual Calendar Watch
SIHH 2013 is in full swing and A. Lange & Sohne is not pulling any punches. ALS has announced the new 1815 Rattrapante Perpetual Calendar, and it looks to be a complete knockout. Featuring a new Lange calibre, the L.101.1, the 1815 Rattrapante Perpetual Calendar combines some of the most sought after complications into one dazzling package that has been designed as a tribute to early A. Lange & Sohne pocket watches. The L.101.1 movement, which consists of 636 separate parts,? incorporates a rattrapante or split-seconds chronograph, a perpetual calendar, moon phase indicator and power reserve display. The L.101.1 is ALS's eighth in-house chronograph movement and sports dual column wheels, 43 jewels and a power reserve of 42 hours. As is the case with perpetual calendars, this ALS will accurately measure the date to 2100, at which point a one-day correction will need to be applied. Thanks to the unique way in which the Gregorian calendar is balanced, every 400 years we omit a tota
Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore G series vs H series
Hey everyone new to the forum just wanted to know if anyone has a info or a link to somewhere that lists out the differences between serials on the Royal Oak specifically Rubberclad between G series and H seriesI see the Chrono second hand is White (G) vs Silver (H)Same for the AP logo white v silverThe date window the G has white with black writing and H has black with white writing And the numbers seem to be more bright white on H vs G they are little tinted yellow in which you can tell they will Glow in the dark Are there more differences? is this something that's just between G and H or they just happen to be different serials but do not define the change. Thanks
5711 problem
ok here's my story: i have a 5711 that was working fine until about 20 months after buying it i noticed it would lose a few minutes every day.so i brought it in and they did a full service. it worked fine for a few weeks and then it started stopping. even after fully winding, it would stop after a few hours.brought it in again and they did some 'repairs' of which i'm not sure what.now i find it will run for maybe 1 and half days after winding it fully and it will continue running if i wear it. however, once i put it in my winder it will just run as if i wound it fully and did not wear it. it does not seem sensitive to the winder's motion at all. i don't think it's an issue with the winder as all my other watches are fine and this watch was running fine for 18 months inside the winder too. can anyone help me trouble shoot?
is the 5370P the perfect Patek- Vote
The 5370P is widely considered to be one of the best new watches launched by Patek in many many years.I am a big fan for the following reasons:-It exudes Patek DNA throughout - the case, the movement, the dialBreguet numerals on a black enamel dial - doesn't get much betterA perfectly proportioned case Superb enamel dial In-house PP movementThe question is - would you trade in a number of Patek watches to fund the purchase of the 5370P which would then become your only Patek (with a few Rolex's as daily beaters?)Details on the watch are in the link below:-.patek/en/mens-watches...ions/5370P-001
Serial number questions
As a new owner of a Rolex, can anyone educate me on the serial number. I bought from an AD, and other than that number being sold (I assume this is why the AD swiped the warranty card), does Rolex know it was sold to me? If so, how? Does it just go to Rolex as being a AD sold piece? Also, is there some sort of meaning to the serial number like a manufacturing date.
