Watchmaker Compares Omega Seamaster Timepieces With Caliber 1120, 2500, & 8500 Movements
As an watches-dealer guest, Hugh Taylor from Xupeswatches-dealer (a pre-owned watches and luxury goods dealer in the UK) once again interviews their in-house master watchmaker, Mickey Nolan, as he proceeds to explain and dissemble three different movements that have all found homes within Omega Seamaster watches. Like many timepieces which have been produced for a number of years, the movements inside those watches evolve and change. Here, we go inside of the Omega caliber 1120, 2500, and 8500 movements to understand what they are about, how Co-Axial escapements matter, and what Mickey the watchmaker has to say about them.Several Fridays ago, while Twitter accounts across South East England ticked away with trademark Anglian wisecracks about how an unheard-of-in-these-parts 4.2-magnitude earthquake had toppled an alarming number of wheelie bins We will rebuild! Owen (the photo wizard) and I nestled into Mickey's watchmaking workshop. We were at Xupes HQ in a peaceful town on the f
Franck Muller are constantly searching for precious
Franck Muller are constantly searching for precious, refined and innovative materials to use in their watches and jewellery. Diamonds and precious stones selected by expert gemmologist, high tech ceramic, 18 karat gold, anti-scratch sapphire crystal, especially selected premium leather are just some of the ingredients of the Franck Muller product.
Case problem
Guys,What do you do about storing your large watches? I've got an aluminum case that I use to carry my watches to/from the bank but it's not really designed for large 42mm+ watches. It's no problem for my <40mm. It also screams, I'm carrying very valuable stuff. Steal me! I looked at Scatola del Tempo last year but decided against the $1500USD... maybe I should revisit it? I need options! Can you recommend something portable?
Good non-Speedy Pro Speedy?
Got an itch to give the Speedmaster another try. I didn't bond the last time I got the 3570.50. Plus my BIL just got the Speedy Pro, so don't want to be wearing the same watch every time we have a family get together. So what would be your favorite Speedmaster variant? I do love the Snoopy models, but definitely more than I want to spend, I'd like to keep my outlay around what the Speedy Pro goes for.
1987 Men's GMT value
I received my father's GMT upon his passing. It could probably use a an overhaul. It is a 1987 Serial # R16760A. I realize I don't have any pics right now, but could add some in future.
