Pellikaan Timing Hendrik Lorentz Watch
When it comes to watches drawing inspiration from gauges and instrumentation, you definitely have some choice. Most of these take the form of aviation watches (as the cockpit dials are a popular thing to mimic), but we have seen inspiration coming from some more grounded dials as well. Among these, the Pellikaan Timing Hendrik Lorentz, mimics the look of scientific instrumentation of years gone past. For starters, the matte black hands and indices contrast sharply with the pearled silver dial, which makes for a crisp, understated, and extremely legible dial, protected by the sapphire crystal at the front. And speaking of the indices, take a closer look at the dial: there are actually three tracks, one for each hand of the watch. This is something that stems from the "local time" formula of?Hendrik Lorentz. Now, if you are like me, you probably have not heard of Lorentz: he was a theoretical physicist in the late 1800s to early 1900s, and he created a series of works which were the basis
Two 18k gold mens Omega, need help to identify
Hi there,I've been trying to identify two Men's 18k Gold Watches around 1980 that are in family possession. The white gold one is a de ville automatic and nothing is engraved on the back of the case. The gold one has Quartz and 1430 engraved on the back.I tried to look them up in the omega database but I either didn't find the right picture or there was no picture to compare it to.I'm looking for a name, description..Thanks very much for any help.
interesting detail on the new 5170R
looks like the live pictures show matching and distinct cream colored chrono and minute counter hands for both the R versions of the 5170, unlike the image on pateks website.similar to the white dialed G version having black chrono and minute hand while the rest are white gold.i am a fan but i do believe i like the black dialed R the most image credit to Bexsonn.bexsonn/new-patek-phi...aph-ref-5170r/
Patek Chrono question 5070 5170

panerai noisy?? and pins?
Hey I noticed the mov inside my panerai is a bit noisy compared to my other watches and some times i can feel the rotor spinning inside. is this normal for panerai watches? Also when i wind the watch my the crown it does not feel as smooth as my rolex lets say? it feels like a cheap watch would when you wind it kinda (not saying the panerai is cheap!!)I know these are noob questions but put my mind to rest!!Also in my 279 in the band they use push pins instead of set screws!! why o why!?!? for the money they should not be using push pins in the bracelet... it should always be set screws... what do you guys think of all this? any answers to all my questions?
