Fortis Marinemaster Vintage Limited Edition
This year Fortis marks its 100th anniversary and to celebrate, the brand is issuing a limited re-edition of the Marinemaster. First distributed at the beginning of the 1940s, that model became one of the brand’s most popular watches. Over the years, the look of the watch was updated, and the 100th anniversary re-edition is inspired by the model produced during the 1970s. The Marinemaster Vintage LE is a 40mm automatic chronograph in polished stainless steel on leather strap, available with orange or blue dial highlights. A total of 500 of each version will be produced. The image below may be enlarged with a click.
Tutima M2 Pioneer Review
Tutima is a brand we've talked a little about here at worn&wound. We looked at the history of the brand here, and pined over the Grand Classic Chronograph UTC here. We've always liked the tool watch aspect of the line. While the brand is remaking itself and offering some more refined models in conjunction with their move back to their historic home of Glashtte in 2011, they haven't forgotten their military roots. The venerable German brand can trace those roots to 1927. During World War II, the brand made something of a name for itself when it was one of a handful of companies making flieger watches for the German Luftwaffe. Post-WW II, Tutima was subsumed into the Eastern Bloc's watchmaking industry. However, the founder, Ernst Kurtz, had escaped to the west and started over in Saxony. Dieter Delecate, a former associate of Kurtz's, eventually took over and led Tutima into the modern era, traversing the mine field of the quartz crisis as he did so.Part of the secret to Tutima's su
Hands-On: With The A. Lange and S?hne Zeitwerk Handwerkskunst (Live Pics)
The A. Lange & S?hne Zeitwerk is a modern marvel, and regularly tops the list of editors' and collectors' favorite pieces of the last half-decade or so.? So, when Lange introduced an entirely new limited edition of this ultimate in digital display mechanical watches with a meticulously hand-engraved dial called the Handwerkskunst, Lange enthusiasts went giddy with joy.? So much so that all thirty of this thirty piece limited production run have been reserved, meaning even if you wanted one of these, you couldn't get it.? 2 OF 16 But, while I was down in Palm Beach with A. Lange & S?hne for the grand opening of their first North American boutique (which we will show you in great detail shortly), we had the chance to go hands-on with this absolutely incredible piece of work. 3 OF 16 The case of the Zeitwerk Handwerkskunst is 41.9mm in diameter and made entirely of platinum, with polished bezel and lugs and brushed sides.? But what makes this particular watch
Quality Issues on new 15400??
Hi all,I bought my 15400OR new last month from a trusted source here and have had some issues with it. Nothing major but definitely something unexpected. 1. I had 2 of the octagonal screws come very loose. I had the tools at home to tighten all of them down where I noticed 2 more were starting to come loose. 2. I was wearing the watch yesterday, and the bar that holds my clasp almost fell out. I noticed the little screw to hold the bar and clasp in place had fallen out. Is this normal? I'm glad the bar didn't slide out completely where my watch would of fallen off my wrist. Who knows what could of happened then. I am hoping the AP Boutique in Beverly Hills can insert the RG screw on site and tighten everything else up.
AP servicing question
I think my 15400 runs too fast occasionally so I think it needs a regulation.I was just wondering how much is the servicing by official AP service centre and how long does it take? ( there is an AP service centre in London)Anyone?Have a lovely weekend gents
