RGM Launches the First USA Series-Made Tourbillon
RGM Watch Company announces the launch of America’s first serially-produced tourbillon movement, the Caliber MM 2 “Pennsylvania Tourbillon”. The company’s new flagship mechanical movement will be produced by hand at its Lancaster, Pennsylvania facility and it will power a small, numbered series of watches available both as a standard model and as custom-ordered pieces.Housed in a 43mm x 12mm case of either steel or 18k gold, the movement presents a symphony of layers and textures, showcasing many great elements of traditional watchmaking practiced by RGM. Finely polished components share space with brushed elements and perlage. Oris BC3 Sportsman 42mm Watch
More relatively affordable Swiss watch action from Oris. New for 2010 is this updated BC3 Sportsman model in a 42mm case. This is about as no nonsense as you'd want to get with a watch, and Oris keeps all the functionality you've come to expect in this collection. For years that have been centrally aligning the day and date windows for a nice clean look. As you can see, at 6 o'clock you have two stacked windows with the calendar information. Done well with white text on black discs to match the dial. Hands are long and easy to read, almost as though the watch were a dive watch. The hands and some of the numeral markers are coated in SuperLumiNova for ease of reading. That combined with the well placed markers make this one highly legible watch. Advise Needed from TRF Friends AP VS Patek
So I have has an itch lately for a Patek, and while I know Patek is considered as good as it gets in the world of watches. I just wanted to see what some of the members here thought about a comparison. I have a new style AP rose gold offshore 44mm, I was thinking of trading it for a Patek nautilus chronograph.Due to the price Decrease, My AP is now less than the Patek Model I'm interested in.AP MSRP is now 46k while the patek is around 51k and stainless steel no less..Patek is a clean chrono dial with nice fly back button on the side. Bracelet looks a little plain. But then again, this is a patek and patek is forever. or so their advertisement's say lol.Should I sell off the AP and purchase the patek and owe a few grand more ontop? What does everyone thing about that? This would be my first patek. While it is way more subtle than the AP, It has really started to stick with me the more I see it. any advise would be great.

1968 Speedmaster going into long term storage...
Since recently picking up a Rolex 1675 GMT the '68 Speedmaster is not seeing much wrist time anymore. I guess it's time to put it into long term storage. I'm going to seal her up in the an original NASA storage bag used to preserve a flown Apollo astronauts watch (who shall remain nameless) and then put it into the bag used to store the watch at the National Air and Space museum (NASM) for 35+ years until it went on display a few years ago.For any of you NASA Speedmaster fans, here is an image of how the Speedmasters were sealed and stored after they were returned by the astronauts and cleaned.
