Audio Exclusive: Swatch Group CEO Nick Hayek Talks Smartwatches
The new Apple Watch smartwatch is now a reality, but is it the wave of the future for the watch business? The September-October 2014 issue of WatchTime, on sale September 16, features editor-in-chief Joe Thompson’s exclusive interview with Swatch Group CEO Nick Hayek. Among the many topics discussed in the far-ranging interview is Hayek’s reluctance to get back into the now-burgeoning smartwatch market, despite the fact that the Swatch watch brand was one of the category’s pioneers 15 years ago. In this audio excerpt from the interview, Hayek elaborates on his reasons for proceeding cautiously on smartwatches. Do you agree with Hayek’s assessment? New Speedy DSoM Strap
Hey all. I know the watch may not hit the streets till late 13/early 14--but I'm wondering if anyone has seen the strap for sale? I'd like to mount it on my 9300. Cheers
Incoming and I never saw it coming until this week
Bit of a strange one, I have always liked Omega as a brand and product, but other than my old vintage one I inherited, had never expected to buy one. I was looking to move 3 of my less worn watches to make space for a Daytona, and someone came forward to do a swap on a Seamaster Professional Chrono, initially I said no. Given my Tudor sold and with luck my GP will also sell at some point shortly, I went what the heck why not. So I swapped my Heuer Chrono for the Attached. Very different watches, but both of us happy, change is as good as a holiday, I have owned the TAG Heuer from new for at least a decade now, so it was time for a change. So I guess now I will have to visit the Omega section as well as the Rolex parts of TRF. Hopefully this was a good decision, cant get over how heavy this watch is, I suspect it will become my main daily wearer not that I would ever call it a beater..... I am very impressed with the quality of the omega product.Attached is what left and what arrived inc
The a call from my dealer yesterday.....
Hi GuysYou know you don't normally get calls from your Rolex dealer and when they do call you, it is usually to tell you that your watch has arrived. Well, I got a missed call from my favorite dealer yesterday. Since there is only one watch that I am waiting/on the list for, I thought OMG, my White dial Daytona C is here!!!. I called back on the owner's cellphone. He answered and said I got good news for you, young man!, You are first on the list for the new SS GMT II if you want it!. Honestly.. I was a... little disappointed, but it was ok. After all, it has only been about 8 months since I got on the waiting list. So I put a small deposit down and now I am first to get the Rolex SS Pepsi I just hope the Daytona doesn't show up too soon
Oyster Bracelet Additional Link?
I am looking for an additional link for my Polar Expll. The bracelet is ref 78790. My question is does the replacement link need to come from an identical bracelet or would a link from say a 93150 bracelet fit??Thanks David
