TAG Heuer Signs Soccer Star Cristiano Ronaldo
TAG Heuer has announced the signing of a new celebrity “global ambassador” to a long-term partnership: Portuguese soccer champion Cristiano Ronaldo, currently the forward for Real Madrid and captain of Portugal’s national team in the upcoming World Cup in Brazil.Ronaldo, a two-time winner of FIFA’s prestigious Ballon d’or award, joins an illustrious list of sports stars and entertainment celebrities that have partnered with TAG Heuer, a Swiss watch brand renowned for its sport-inspired chronograph watches. Previous TAG Heuer “ambassadors” have included actors Cameron Diaz and Leonardo DiCaprio, tennis star Maria Sharapova, the 2013 America’s Cup-winning Oracle Team USA, numerous legendary drivers from Formula One racing, and, formerly, golf icon Tiger Woods.Born on the island of Madeira, Ronaldo first played professionally in his native Portugal before joining Britain’s Manchester United in 2003, where he scored more than 100 goals
AP Quality
So I just got an itch and ended up buying 3 watches all at once -- JLC 976, Polar Explorer II 42mm and AP 15400 white dial. Love the AP so much that I started focusing on the ROO as well even though initially they did not do much for me. Anyway, love the AP but the problem is that the quickset date never worked right out of the box (bought from AD). The other watches have been running perfect with no issues, with JLC being the most accurate by far.So the question is how has everyone else's experiences been -- was I just unlucky? How does a watch leave the factory without someone checking to see if all the functions work properly? Just disappointed as I now have to send my watch back and wait and wait for a watch I really wanted to start putting through the paces.Thoughts from the experts?
One Year of 5905P
One year since I picked this up and I wear it daily, a perfect modern Patek in my opinion. And I'm wondering if the other two pieces I'm interested in would get any wrist time, I'm waiting for a 5524G pilot and considering the new 5320G perpetual. Opinions? I'm thinking the Pilot for weekends but am having a hard time with when I'd wear the vintage looking perpetual. Do you guys think it would work as a daily with casual attire, jeans and a polo, my uniform?
How the 5167 dial is made ..?
Anyone have any info on the making of the 5167 dial? How Patek finishes it to be able to look so dynamic under so many different lightning conditions? I heard that it takes Patek quite some time to make the 5167 dial ... I can't seem to find anything online supporting this though ... Would love any insight if you have it!Thanks!
Complications please!
Lets see some wrist pics!
