Bianci Ladies Watches Make For Decent Gifts
We get a lot of requests to write about "more affordable" watches - which is tough as we are such high-brow snobs. Having said that, watches-dealer is produced by regular people whose budgets are probably closer to beer than champagne much of the time. So, here are a couple of watches from Bianci. You'll find these watches at various stores online often for discounts compared to the "retail prices." Each of these watches retails for somewhere in the $400 range, but are less when you look around for them online. These are decent timepieces and they are also fashionable. Bianci's best designs are for women, while they also have a men's collection.Buying watches as gifts for women is hard when you don't have Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, or Rolex amounts of money to spend. Your typical department store fare is often generic looking or boring, and worse, you can get a woman a gift that a few of her friends already have. I am pretty sure they hate that sort of thing. These two watches are
Better sidekick to the No Date Sub
TRF'ers...in your opinion, disregarding what else may be in the collection, what's a better piece to pair with the No Date Sub (114060):-Explorer 1 (updated 214270 with lumed numerals and longer hands)-GMTC II LNWould the Explorer be too similar in that it is another no date/time only, black dial Rolex with the Mercedes hands, with 'similar' brushed oyster bracelet? Or would it pair nicely in with its smooth bezel, different hour markers on the dial (with the Arabic numerals) and generally wears differently than a sub?Would the GMTC be too similar as it is another black dial Rolex that has a rotating bezel, similar hour markers on the dial, and wears somewhat similar to the sub? Or would it pair nicely as it has the date/cyclops, bezel (while rotating) like the sub) is different, polished center links, and added GMT complication?Looking for opinions and would love to hear from owners who own both of the different pairings. Thanks in advance.
Shots from the Basel pricelist
Thought it will interest many of you. Attached you'll find the pages of the sport models. Prices are in CHF. No GMT LN / BLNR to be seen. Sub LB is still there though.
Should I service my watch with Rolex?
My father has a GMT-Master II Fat Lady from 1986 and it has never been serviced. Im thinking of getting it serviced for him as a gift. Should I have it serviced at Rolex or are 3rd Party service places just as good? What is the cost and turn around time usually. Crazy thing about this watch is that it keeps better time than my 16710. ROLEX GMT MASTER II 16760 Fat Lady and 16710 Comparison Video
