TimeCrafters Watch Event in New York City September 14-15
Fledgling US-based watch event TimeCrafters is back for its second year. The event is trying hard to be the reference American high-end watch show to compliment SIHH and Baselworld in Geneva and Basel, Switzerland. Many famous high-end brands from the Swatch Group, Richmont, LVMH, and more will be there to show off their 2012 creations. I would have been there this year but other travel plans got in the way.The good news is that TimeCrafters is open to the public for the reasonable admission price of $20 at the door or FREE if you register online via their website. It is a good opportunity for watch lovers to converse with brands and have a more hands-on experience with the latest and greatest in high-end watch making. Brands will also feature special guests such as watch makers and designers from Switzerland to display their crafts and answer your most pressing questions.Details? TimeCrafters 2012 will be from September 14-15 (10am - 8pm) at the Park Avenue Armory (643 Park Avenue) in
RO DLC coating
Considering adding DLC coating to a Royal Oak 15305ST.Have seen a 15400ST with DLC coating. First thought was a 15305 is the same on the outside so could be done but began wondering if there is there any reason the 15305 would be different. Do they perhaps have to remove the movement which would be harder in a skeleton piece?
Buying 15202 from AP Boutique- Is it worth it?
Hello everyone,Long time lurker and have learned immensely from all of you. I have decided to buy the 15202 blue dial in stainless steel and here is the dilemma. I can get it from the AP boutique for retail with 5 yrs warranty and possibly some knick knacks thrown in, likely nothing of value or buy one from one of our trusted sellers for about $1700 less. I will not be paying sales tax either way. I know I can get an extra yr of warranty if I buy from an AD but have to send it in for a ?check up, but is the extra 2 yrs worth the extra money? Thanks in advance and excited about my first AP!!

Gold vs SS Nautilus - useability and durability?
Hi,This is not so much a 'what do you prefer' thread - but more a question of how much more fragile the gold versions of the nautilus are.We all know the SS nautilus bezel is a scratch magnet - so I would imagine the similar gold bezel is even more prone to scratches...?Current or previous owners of both metals - can you share your experiences? Is/was the gold nautilus a special occasion watch - with the SS a daily driver? Or the gold version for work, change to SS for more casual? Did anyone 'downgrade' from gold to SS nautilus out of fear of scratches or other reasons? Thanks in advance for your thoughts!
